About 

Bapuji Ayurvedic Medical College is one of the best and well known ayurvedic medical college in the district of Shimoga, an entrance to picturesque malnad region of Karnataka. The college is running under BAPUJI educational trust ® Honnali. Our college is approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), Government of India and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The college was established in the year 1996. The college is associated with hospital facility where each and every student will obtain quality clinical experience along with class room teaching offered by well experienced, highly qualified and dedicated teaching faculty.

The college has well equipped 14 departments, extensive library and requisite Laboratories. All the departments have highly qualified and experienced staff to enrich the knowledge of students in undergraduate courses. Periodic Guest lectures, Seminars, CME and Workshops are being arranged to accomplish academic development of students.

BAMC is spread across 10 acres of land. The campus consists of Main administrative block, hospital (both OPD & IPD), college block, canteen and hostel. BAMC has 60 bedded hospital and a pharmacy.

We are very much aware that every boy or a girl has inbuilt potential and creativity, which requires a right opportunity to exhibit in a commandable manner.

But we would like to assure you that we will not be compromising in matters relating to discipline, conduct, character and training, which is very essential for the development of personality. At the same time we will try our level best to retain the stamp of Indian ness in their personality.

We at BAMC&H, Shimoga prepare professional manpower for tomorrow. Our students learn to accept the responsibilities in making the medical profession of high standard for Health and welfare of the people.

For admission to UG - BAMS Course :

Passing marks for eligibility in admission to UG BAMS courses should be as per the ASU&H-UG regulations and should be followed strictly. The details qualifications for different categories are as follows :

i. Candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks IN PUC/equivalent taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the aforesaid qualifying examination in the case of general category and 40% Marks in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Schedule Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.

ii. In respect of persons with disability as specified under the Right of Person with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum qualifying marks in the said qualifying examination are as follows: a) In Physics, Chemistry and Biology shall be 45% in the case of general category. (For PwD candidates only) b) 40% in the case of the Schedule Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. (for PwD candidates only).

iii. No candidate will be admitted to UG BAMS Degree Course unless he/she has attained the age of seventeen (17) years on or before the 31st December of the year of his/her admission in the first year of the course. Further, there is no upper age limit for admission to BAMS-UG course.

iv. In order to be eligible for admission to an UG-BAMS course, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in the ‘National Eligibility Entrance Test for UG-BAMS course’ held for the academic year of applying for admission: Provided that in respect of-

  • (A) Candidates belonging to the Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at the 40th percentile (Only for karnataka state candidates).
  • (B) Candidates with benchmark disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile in the case of the General category and 40th percentile in the case of the Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes and Other Backward Classes.( as per the applicable regulations following by the NCISM/State university).
