Vishnu Ayurveda College

Vishnu Ayurveda Medical College was established in the year 2002 on the inspiration and motivation of visionary Dr. P Ramachandran Nair, Phd, who is the founder director of the college. The college is recognised by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. Since then, the college has molded many dedicated and competent medical professionals who are working in Govt services, private hospitals in India, and abroad. The college has achieved a B grade in the Quality Council of India's first-ever nationwide Ranking for Ayurveda colleges. Presently, the college aims to get accredited by NAAC.

Presently, the college is conducting the BAMS program and MD in 3 specialties-Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, and Dravyaguna. Students have achieved ranks at the university level over the past years. The college has well well-updated library, ICT-enabled classrooms, a well-equipped laboratory, GMP-certified teaching pharmacy, a herbal garden, sports facilities, an auditorium, etc.

The college has highly experienced, proficient, and dedicated teaching staff. The college focuses on the holistic development of the students by providing soft skill training, career development programs, and conducting outreach medical camps and awareness programs on a healthy lifestyle to the public.

The 

Library: It has all the latest and updated Ayurveda medical books essential for UG and PG students. Books are issued for 7 days, except reference books which the issue is restricted to the faculty. Journals are subscribed including E-journals.

Hostel: A well-furnished hostel accommodation is provided for both boys and girls.

Transportation: The college has an adequate number of vehicles to provide transport facilities for students.

CME - Continuing Medical Education: As a part of the continuing medical education, the college conducts many seminars and presentations by eminent personalities. Faculty attend external CME programs conducted by the university and colleges, which are shared with the other teachers.

The college functions by implementing a quality management system as per NAAC standards. The responsibilities are delegated to different committees as the College Council, IQAC (Internal Quality Assessment and Accreditation ), as per the norms of NCISM and NAAC Standards cell, Ethics committee, Anti-Ragging, Examination Committee, Grievance redressal, Sexual Harassment Committee, students’ council, academic committee, curriculum committee, career guidance and placement, remedial coaching, and extra-curricular committee.

The attached hospital has having well-equipped OPD in all critical branches of Ayurveda. The hospital has an IPD with 100 beds supported by therapy sections. With our motto " service with love," we give high-quality health care, affordable and accessible to all, preferably to the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized. Patients from neighboring states are also benefiting from this. The care and concern, especially of the director, Dr. Ramachanran, is experienced and appreciated by all the stakeholders.
