What is MS General Surgery?
MS in General Surgery (Master of Surgery) is a three-year postgraduate medical degree that trains doctors in the surgical treatment of various diseases, injuries, and conditions affecting different parts of the body. The course provides comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in general surgical procedures such as abdominal surgery, trauma management, cancer surgeries, and minimally invasive techniques.

MS General Surgery Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for Masters of Surgery eligibility has been defined by the MCI in ‘The Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000’.
- According to the eligibility criteria for Master of Surgery, only those candidates who have passed MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) can apply for this course. They must have completed one year of mandatory rotatory internship to be eligible for a Masters of Surgery (General Surgery) course.
- The candidate must also be registered with MCI or any state medical council.
- Candidates must have to qualify Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as their main subjects. Intermediate students have to pass the MBBS degree from a recognized university with 50+ aggregate.
