AP AYUSH Counselling 2026: NTR UHS Invites Applications for AIQ BHMS Seats; Apply from September 17

The Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS), Vijayawada has issued a notification inviting online applications for admission to All India Quota seats in private unaided non-minority BHMS colleges affiliated with the University for the academic year 2026-27.

The admission process is open to candidates who fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria based on NEET UG 2026. The AIQ seats are open in nature, and the notification states that candidates do not require a domicile certificate for these seats.

All dates are tentative, and Dr. NTR UHS has reserved the right to change the schedule without assigning a reason or providing advance notice.

Application Portal to Remain Closed During Server Maintenance

Candidates should note that the online application will not be available from 8:00 PM on September 18, 2026, until 10:00 PM on September 20, 2026, due to server maintenance.

Candidates should therefore complete their applications and uploads accordingly instead of waiting until the last date.

NEET UG 2026 Cutoff for BHMS Admission

Candidates must secure the prescribed qualifying score in NEET UG 2026 to participate in the BHMS admission process.

The notification makes the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET UG 2026 compulsory for admission.

BHMS Eligibility Criteria

For admission to BHMS, candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology or Biotechnology

Candidates must also meet the prescribed minimum qualifying percentile in NEET UG 2026.

The notification clarifies that the lower qualifying percentile applicable to SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates is only for eligibility purposes. It will not apply as reservation because there are no reservation quotas for these categories in the AIQ seats covered by this notification.

Age Limit

Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2026.

Candidates who do not complete 17 years by that date are not eligible. Candidates born on or after January 1, 2010, are also not eligible.

The date of birth will be considered according to the SSC or equivalent examination certificate. There is no upper age limit specified in the notification.

BHMS Colleges Under All India Quota

The notification lists the following private unaided non-minority BHMS colleges and the AIQ seats listed for the academic year 2025-26:

The notification states that the number of seats permitted by NCISM/NCH and the University affiliation for 2026-27 will be displayed before counselling.

Tuition Fee and University Fee

The tuition fee for the academic year 2026-27 will be as fixed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Selected candidates will also have to pay a University Fee of INR 8,600 while downloading the allotment order online.

The University Fee is non-refundable and will not be adjusted to a future date.

No Domicile Requirement for AIQ Seats

The notification states that all AIQ seats are open in nature and there is no requirement for a domicile certificate for selection to these seats, as per the directions of the Ministry of Ayush cited in the notification.

Documents Required for Application

Candidates should scan and keep the following documents ready:

  • NEET UG 2026 Rank Card
  • Date of Birth Certificate/SSC Marks Memo
  • Qualifying Examination Certificate
  • Caste Certificate, if applicable
  • Aadhaar Card, if applicable
  • PwD Certificate issued by the competent authority, if applicable
  • Latest passport-size photograph with name and date
  • Specimen signature

The notification specifies 500 KB for the listed PDF documents and 100 KB for the photograph and signature.

Photograph Requirements

The photograph submitted with the application should:

  • Be a recent passport-size colour photograph taken within the last six months.
  • Be clear and high quality.
  • Show the candidate's full face.
  • Include the candidate's name, last name and date on which the photograph was taken.
  • Be scanned and saved in JPG format.
  • Be within the prescribed 100 KB file size.

Merit List and Selection Process

Dr. NTR UHS and concerned departmental officials will scrutinize the uploaded information and certificates.

After scrutiny, a provisional merit list will be released. Candidates will have an opportunity to submit grievances, after which the final merit list will be released.

The notification also states that admission to BHMS will be conducted according to the applicable orders and regulations issued by NCISM/NCH, Government of India and the Ministry of Ayush.

Applications May Be Rejected for Incomplete or Unclear Documents

The online application may be automatically rejected if:

  • Details, photograph or signature are incomplete.
  • Uploaded certificates are invisible or improperly uploaded.
  • Certificates are not properly scanned and eligibility cannot be determined.

Candidates should therefore verify every uploaded document before submitting the application.

Original Documents to Be Verified at Allotted College

Verification of original certificates will be conducted by the college where the seat is allotted.

At the time of joining, candidates must submit the printout of the completed online application, original certificates and one set of self-attested copies to the Principal of the allotted college for final verification.

If a discrepancy is found, the provisional allotment order may be cancelled without notice.

Admission Remains Provisional

The notification makes it clear that admission is strictly provisional. Merely obtaining a merit position does not mean that the candidate's candidature has been finally accepted.

Eligibility will be examined by the University and concerned officials on the basis of the uploaded scanned original certificates. An ineligible candidate obtaining a merit position does not become eligible for admission.

Candidates found to have provided incorrect information or fake, false or forged certificates may have their candidature, seat or admission cancelled.
