The Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS), Vijayawada has extended the deadline for Free Exit from Phase-I reported/joined MBBS seats under the Competent Authority Quota for the academic year 2026-27.

As per File No. 5156/MBBS/BDS/EA1/2026(CQ), dated September 11, 2026, the deadline has been extended from the earlier schedule to 11:00 AM on September 15, 2026. The University has issued the notice in continuation of its notification dated September 10, 2026.

The extension gives candidates additional time to decide whether they want to retain their Phase-I allotted/joined MBBS seat or avail the Free Exit facility.

AP NEET UG Counselling 2026: Revised Free Exit Deadline

Candidates who have reported to or joined an MBBS seat allotted in Phase-I under Competent Authority Quota can now submit their Free Exit request within the extended deadline.

Particular Details
University Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences
Course MBBS
Quota Competent Authority Quota
Counselling Phase Phase-I
Free Exit Facility Available
Revised Deadline September 15, 2026
Last Time 11:00 AM
Notice Date September 11, 2026

Candidates who wish to exit from their reported/joined Phase-I seat should complete the prescribed process before the revised deadline.

Free Exit Allows Candidates to Leave Phase-I Joined Seat

Under the Free Exit facility, candidates who have joined their Phase-I allotted MBBS seat can withdraw from the seat within the prescribed period.

Candidates should carefully consider their decision before submitting a Free Exit request because the University has specified consequences for candidates who avail this facility.

The University's earlier notice stated that candidates using Free Exit will not be eligible for further phases of Competent Authority Quota counselling.

Candidates Must Take an Informed Decision

Candidates are advised to carefully evaluate their admission options before opting for Free Exit.

Once a candidate chooses the Free Exit facility, they will lose their claim over the Phase-I joined seat and will not be eligible to participate in subsequent phases of Competent Authority Quota counselling for 2026-27, as per the applicable rules.

The University has therefore advised candidates to take an informed and calculated decision before submitting their request.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Candidates who have joined a Phase-I MBBS seat and want to avail Free Exit should:

  1. Check the latest Dr. NTR UHS counselling notification.
  2. Decide whether they want to surrender their Phase-I joined seat.
  3. Submit the Free Exit request through the prescribed process.
  4. Complete the process before 11:00 AM on September 15, 2026.
  5. Keep a copy of the submitted request and relevant documents for future reference.

Candidates who do not wish to exit should follow the instructions applicable to Phase-II counselling and subsequent web-option procedures.
