The Dr N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada has released the detailed notification for admission to MBBS and BDS courses under NRI Category and NRI Lapsed Category seats for the academic year 2026-27.
The notification covers Competent Authority (Self-Financing) NRI seats in new Government Medical Colleges, Management Quota NRI seats in private unaided non-minority and minority medical and dental colleges affiliated with Dr NTRUHS, and NRI seats in Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women under SVIMS, Tirupati.
The university has also issued a corrigendum dated September 13, 2026, confirming the schedule for document uploading and fresh registration.

The detailed notification states that candidates already registered under Management Quota who fulfil the NRI eligibility criteria can upload the required documents or NRI Lapsed Category affidavit without paying the application fee again. Candidates who could not register earlier can register and upload the documents by paying INR 31,000, including INR 11,000 fee and INR 20,000 late fee.
Candidates seeking admission under the NRI category must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and satisfy the prescribed eligibility requirements.
For the qualifying examination, candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with the required subjects and marks. The notification specifies 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology for general candidates, with 40% applicable for OBC/BC/SC/ST candidates, subject to the applicable regulations.
Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed minimum age requirement of 17 years by December 31, 2026.

Candidates claiming admission through an NRI blood relative must submit the prescribed NRI declaration and supporting relationship documents.
NRI seats will be filled based on NEET UG 2026 rank and the options exercised by eligible candidates, subject to seat availability.
NRI seats that remain vacant after exhausting eligible NRI candidates may be converted into NRI Lapsed Category seats during the later counselling phase, subject to the Government of Andhra Pradesh's applicable orders.
Candidates opting for NRI Lapsed Category seats must submit the prescribed notarized affidavit and pay a Security Deposit of INR 3,00,000. Candidates allotted NRI Lapsed seats must additionally submit a Bank Guarantee for the tuition fee at the concerned college.
In minority colleges, preference will be given to eligible minority candidates for NRI Lapsed seats. If minority candidates are unavailable, non-minority candidates may be considered subject to the prescribed limit.
Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of relevant original certificates and documents. Important documents include:
NRI candidates must additionally submit documents such as passport, NRI status certificate of the financial supporter, AIU equivalence certificate where applicable, OCI/PIO card and prescribed blood-relative declaration and family relationship documents.

The university has clarified that the application submitted for Competent Authority/Convenor Quota seats will not be considered for NRI or NRI Lapsed Category seats. The application fee is also non-refundable.
NTRUHS has advised candidates to regularly check the official website because the web options notification will be issued separately. Candidates are also responsible for keeping their login credentials, passwords and OTPs confidential.
The university has warned candidates against touts, brokers or middlemen claiming to guarantee medical or dental seats. Admissions will be conducted according to the applicable rules, NEET UG merit and the options exercised by candidates.
