AP NEET UG Counselling 2026: NTRUHS Opens Phase-I Web Options for MBBS NRI Quota Seats

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTRUHS), Vijayawada, has issued a notification for exercising web options for Phase-I counselling for admission to MBBS courses for the academic year 2026-27 under various NRI categories.

The notification has been issued in continuation of the university notification dated 13 September 2026. Only candidates whose names appear in the Final Merit Position displayed on 27 September 2026 and who are found eligible for NRI Category seats can exercise web options.

Candidates must exercise their choices according to the NRI seat matrix displayed on the official Dr. NTRUHS website.

Categories Covered Under Phase-I Counselling

The Phase-I web options process covers MBBS seats under the following categories:

  1. Competent Authority (NRI Category) seats in new Government Medical Colleges permitted from the academic year 2023-24 onwards.
  2. Management Quota Category-C (NRI) seats in private unaided non-minority and minority medical colleges affiliated with Dr. NTRUHS.
  3. NRI Category seats in Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women under SVIMS, Tirupati.

NRI Seats in New Government Medical Colleges

According to the seat matrix, a total of 136 NRI-category seats are available across the new Government Medical Colleges permitted from 2023-24 and Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women under SVIMS.

MBBS NRI Quota Fee Structure 2026-27

Candidates selected for NRI-category MBBS seats will have to pay the applicable University fee of INR 70,100 through the online payment gateway for downloading the allotment order.

The University fee can be paid through Debit Card, Credit Card or Internet Banking.

Candidates must then report to the Principal of the allotted college with the allotment order and original certificates within the reporting deadline mentioned in the allotment order. The prescribed tuition fee and college fee must also be paid to complete admission.

Government Medical Colleges

For the new Government Medical Colleges permitted from the academic year 2023-24, the notification specifies a Competent Authority NRI tuition fee of INR 20 lakh per annum.

Private Medical Colleges

For Category-C (NRI) seats in private unaided non-minority and minority medical colleges, the notification mentions an interim tuition fee of up to INR 43,56,000 per annum for MBBS for 2026-27, subject to the conditions mentioned in the relevant Government Order and the outcome of the specified court cases.

However, the notification also lists college-specific fees reported by individual institutions.

Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women NRI Fee

For Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, under SVIMS, Tirupati, the notification specifies the following fee:

MBBS NRI Category Tuition Fee: INR 25,00,000 per annum

Selected candidates have to pay the tuition fee directly at the college at the time of admission. The university has also advised candidates to refer to the SVIMS website for other fee particulars.

Who Can Exercise NRI Web Options?

Only candidates whose names are included in the Final Merit Position displayed on 27 September 2026 and who have been found eligible for NRI Category seats can exercise web options.

Candidates must exercise choices according to their preferred order of medical colleges.

The university has clarified that allotments will be made according to the priority of options exercised by candidates, subject to applicable rules and eligibility.

Important Instructions for Web Option Entry

Candidates should carefully follow the web-option instructions issued by Dr. NTRUHS.

The important instructions include:

  • Candidates should exercise options only if they are included in the eligible Final Merit List.
  • Medical colleges should be selected in the order of preference.
  • Candidates should carefully review their choices before submitting them.
  • An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID while entering and submitting web options.
  • Once options are submitted, they will be treated as final.
  • No request for changing options or the order of college preferences will be entertained after the web-option schedule closes.
  • Candidates should read the user manual before exercising options.
  • Candidates are advised to take a printout of their saved options.

NRI Eligibility Criteria

The notification specifies that the following candidates can be considered for NRI Category seats:

  1. Actual NRI candidates.
  2. Foreign students/OCI Card Holders, including PIOs, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
  3. Children/blood relatives of NRI candidates, including specified relations such as:
    • Real brother or sister of the father — real paternal uncle or aunt.
    • Real brother or sister of the mother — real maternal uncle or aunt.
    • Father's father or mother — grandfather or grandmother.
    • Mother's father or mother — maternal grandfather or grandmother.
    • First-degree paternal and maternal cousins.

For the blood-relative category, the notification states that the person should be an NRI, ordinarily residing abroad, and should have looked after the student as the guardian, with supporting evidence.

Candidates are required to submit the prescribed declaration and supporting documents establishing their NRI status or relationship with the NRI.

Original Documents Will Be Verified at the College

Dr. NTRUHS has stated that seats are allotted based on documents uploaded by candidates without verification of the originals at the university stage.

The original certificates will be verified at the time of admission at the allotted college.

If any discrepancy is found, or if a candidate is found ineligible or documents uploaded are found to be false, the seat will be cancelled immediately without notice, and further action will be taken according to the applicable rules.

NRI Seats That Remain Vacant

According to the notification, under the Government of Andhra Pradesh orders, NRI quota seats that remain vacant after exhausting choices from all NRI applicants will be converted into NRI lapsed seats.

Such seats will be filled during Phase-III (Mop-Up) or subsequent counselling phases.

NRI applicants will be considered for allotment of NRI Category seats in Phase-I and Phase-II. In Phase-III and subsequent counselling, NRI applicants will be considered first, followed by NRI lapsed applicants.

Reporting After Seat Allotment

Candidates who receive an allotment must download the allotment order online after paying the University fee of INR 70,100.

The candidate must report to the Principal of the allotted college before the date and time specified in the allotment order, carrying:

  • All original certificates
  • Relevant bonds, wherever applicable
  • All required NRI supporting documents
  • Allotment order

The candidate must also pay the applicable tuition fee and college fee to complete the admission process.

Failure to report within the prescribed deadline will result in automatic cancellation of admission.

Candidates Should Note

Candidates who do not report to their allotted college in Phase-I will be permitted to participate in Phase-II counselling. However, they will not be permitted to opt for the earlier seat for which they failed to report.

The next counselling rounds will be conducted for:

  • Unfilled seats after Phase-I.
  • Seats where candidates do not report or join after Phase-I.
