The Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada has issued a notice regarding admission to MBBS and BDS courses under Management Quota (NRI/NRI Lapsed Category) for the academic session 2026-27.

The notice dated September 26, 2026 addresses candidates who have applied under Management Quota and opted for both the NRI Quota and NRI Lapsed Category.

NTRUHS MBBS, BDS Management Quota: NRI Category Eligibility

NTRUHS has clarified that candidates who have opted for both NRI and NRI Lapsed categories will be considered according to their eligibility based on the documents uploaded during the verification process.

Candidates who are found eligible for the NRI Category after verification of the required documents will be considered for NRI Category seats only.

Therefore, such candidates will not be considered for NRI Lapsed Category seats if they have been found eligible for the NRI Category.

Candidates Ineligible for NRI Category May Be Considered Under NRI Lapsed

Candidates who are found ineligible for NRI Category seats because they did not submit the required documents may be considered for NRI Lapsed Category seats.

However, such candidates may be considered in Phase III (Mop-Up) or subsequent phase(s) of counselling, subject to fulfilment of the applicable requirements.

Candidates will also be required to re-upload the notarized affidavit as prescribed in the relevant NTRUHS notification.

NRI and NRI Lapsed Category Upload Facility

NTRUHS has further clarified that the facility for uploading documents for either the NRI Category or NRI Lapsed Category will be allowed after the Phase I and Phase II allotments for the 2026-27 academic year only.

The University has stated that this facility is being provided in view of the delay in release of the Management Quota NRI Category counselling procedure by the Government.

The notice specifically clarifies that this arrangement cannot be treated as a precedent for future academic years.

It also will not serve as a precedent for Competent Authority Quota counselling.

Candidates Advised to Monitor NTRUHS Website

Eligible candidates are advised to regularly visit the official NTRUHS website for further updates regarding Management Quota counselling.

Candidates should carefully follow the notifications and schedules issued by the University regarding document uploading, allotment and subsequent counselling phases.

Grievance Redressal Through Candidate Login

Candidates who have any grievance regarding their NRI or NRI Lapsed Category status can raise a ticket through their login ID.

The University has stated that grievances should be raised according to the schedule notified by NTRUHS.Candidates should use the prescribed login-based grievance mechanism rather than relying on informal communication.
