The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has announced the 3rd Round Online Counselling for admission to 1st year MBBS/BDS courses in government medical and dental colleges of Assam for the academic session 2026. The counselling will be conducted for vacant State Quota seats.

Candidates who have qualified in NEET UG 2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) can participate in the counselling, subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions prescribed under the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st Year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017, as amended up to 2026, along with the applicable NEET UG 2026 cut-off.

Assam NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Counselling Schedule

The online counselling portal will be available for registration from September 28 to October 1, 2026, up to 11:55 PM.

Existing Candidates Need Not Register Again

Candidates who have already registered and participated in Round 1 or Round 2 of Assam State NEET UG 2026 counselling do not need to register again.

Such candidates will be allowed to participate in the Round 3 online choice filling process for fresh seat allotment or for a change of college, as applicable.

Assam NEET UG Round 3 Choice Filling and Locking

The online choice filling window will remain open from October 2 to October 5, 2026, until 10:00 PM.

Candidates can enter their preferred choices during this period. Choice locking will be available on October 5 from 5:00 PM to 11:59 PM.

The Directorate has clarified that choices will be automatically locked after the specified time if a candidate does not lock them earlier.

Assam NEET UG 2026 Seat Allotment and Reporting

The processing of seat allotment will be conducted from October 6 to October 8, 2026. The counselling result, along with the modalities for admission, will be displayed on October 9, 2026.

Candidates who are provisionally selected will have to complete admission at their respective allotted institutions between October 13 and October 14, 2026, as directed by the authorities.

Important Eligibility Condition for MCC Round 3 Candidates

The DME Assam notice states that candidates who joined or are holding a seat after Round 3 of counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the 2026 session will not be eligible to participate in the Assam State counselling.

Such candidates will be removed from the counselling process. Candidates are advised to regularly check the DME Assam official website for further updates related to the counselling process.
