he Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has issued an important educational notice for candidates who have registered for Round 1 online counselling for admission to 1st-year MBBS and BDS courses in Assam Government Medical and Dental Colleges under the TGL/Ex-TGL category for the 2026 session.
According to the notice dated August 17, 2026, all candidates who registered for Round 1 online counselling under the TGL/Ex-TGL category have been directed to report to the Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare, Assam immediately.The verification is required to authenticate the candidates' TGL/Ex-TGL category status before the counselling and admission process proceeds further.
Candidates must also complete the required Annexure-VI formalities. The document will have to be authenticated and signed by the Director, Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare, Assam after verification of the candidate's category status.
Candidates are therefore advised to carry the relevant original documents and category-related certificates required for verification.
The notice applies specifically to candidates who have already registered for Round 1 online counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam under the TGL/Ex-TGL category.
Failure to complete the required verification may affect the candidate's eligibility under the claimed category during the admission process.
