The Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, has issued an admission notice regarding provisional admission into the MBBS course under the PwD (Divyang) category for the 2026 session.

The notice dated September 17, 2026, has been issued pursuant to the PwD benchmark verification report submitted by the Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati.

According to the notice, the candidate appeared before the Medical Board on September 14, 2026, and was found eligible for provisional admission under the PwD category.

Assam NEET UG Admission 2026: PwD Candidate Found Eligible

The DME Assam notice lists one candidate who has been found eligible for provisional admission into the MBBS course under the PwD (Divyang) category.

The eligibility has been determined following the candidate's appearance before the Medical Board and the subsequent benchmark disability verification report.

Admission Reporting Date

The provisionally allotted candidate has been directed to report to the Principal, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh for admission.

The provisional admission is subject to fulfilment of all other admission criteria prescribed under the applicable Assam admission rules.

PwD Verification Conducted by Medical Board

The admission notice has been issued pursuant to the PwD benchmark verification report from Gauhati Medical College & Hospital.

The candidate appeared before the Medical Board on September 14, 2026. Following verification, the candidate was found eligible for provisional admission under the PwD (Divyang) category.

The relevant verification report is cited in the DME Assam notice as GMC&H/PwBD/01/2026/086, dated September 15, 2026.

Admission Subject to Applicable Rules

DME Assam has clarified that the provisional admission remains subject to fulfilment of all other admission criteria under the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st Year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017, as amended up to 2026.

All other terms and conditions will remain as specified in the Directorate's earlier notice No. e. DME/UG/2026/770111/20 dated September 11, 2026.

What Candidates Should Know

The notice concerns provisional admission following PwD benchmark verification. The candidate has been allotted a seat at Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh and directed to report to the Principal for admission.
