Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round 1 Provisional Select List Released for MBBS, BDS Admission

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released the provisional select list of candidates selected after the 1st Round of Online Counselling for admission to 1st-year MBBS and BDS courses in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam.

As per Admission Notice No. e. DME/UG/2026/790538/1196 dated September 2, 2026, the provisional select list for Assam State Quota seats is now available on the official DME Assam website.

Candidates who have been provisionally selected are required to complete the admission process within the dates specified by the Directorate.

Assam NEET UG Round 1 Admission 2026: Important Dates

Joining Status Submission by Colleges September 6, 2026, by 12:00 Noon

Candidates should carefully follow the applicable reporting date and complete all admission formalities within the prescribed deadline.

PwD Candidates Must Report for Disability Verification

All candidates provisionally selected under the PwD category (Divyang) have been directed to report with all relevant original certificates for verification of their disability status by the Medical Board.

The verification will be conducted at the office of the Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Bhangagarh, Guwahati, in the hospital premises.

Dates: September 3 and 4, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM

Candidates who fail to report for the required disability verification may have their allotment cancelled.

Selected Candidates to Report for Admission

All provisionally selected candidates are required to report to the Principals of their respective allotted colleges for admission on September 4 and 5, 2026.

Candidates must bring all necessary original documents, prescribed annexures and admission/counselling fees of approximately Rs. 25,000 at the time of admission.

Failure to complete the admission process within the prescribed period may result in cancellation of the allotment.

Original Documents Required for Admission

Candidates must submit the required original documents to the Principal of the respective college after receiving an acknowledgement from the college authority.

The documents include:

  • Original Admit Card
  • HSLC Marks Sheet
  • HSLC Pass Certificate
  • HSSLC or equivalent examination Marks Sheet
  • HSSLC or equivalent Pass Certificate
  • Caste Certificate, wherever applicable
  • Required documents and annexures specified under the MBBS/BDS Admission Rules, 2017, amended up to 2026
  • Other documents required under the applicable admission rules

Candidates should ensure that all required documents are available in original before reporting to the allotted college.

Admission Subject to Eligibility and Medical Fitness

DME Assam has clarified that all admissions will remain provisional and will be subject to fulfilment of the requisite eligibility criteria under the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS courses) Rules, 2017, amended up to 2026.

Admission is also subject to the candidate being found medically fit at the time of admission.

Strict Action Against False Information

Candidates have been warned that furnishing any false information or declaration during online selection or admission can result in cancellation of admission at any stage.

The Directorate has further stated that criminal proceedings may be initiated against candidates who submit false or fabricated documents or information under the applicable law.

Candidates Must Submit Admission Agreement

All selected candidates are required to enter into an agreement in the prescribed format as per the applicable admission rules.

The prescribed agreement is available on the official DME Assam website.

Candidates must submit the agreement to the Principal of their respective college within 15 days from the date of admission.

Colleges Directed to Submit Joining Status

The Principals of Government Medical and Dental Colleges in Assam have been instructed to complete all admission formalities by constituting the required Scrutiny and Medical Boards.

Colleges must submit the joining status of candidates in the prescribed Excel format to the Office of the DME, Assam by email on or before September 6, 2026, by 12:00 Noon.

Candidates who have been included in the Round 1 provisional select list should check their allotment details on the official DME Assam website and report to the concerned college within the prescribed admission dates.

PwD candidates must separately complete the required disability verification before proceeding with admission.
