The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has issued an important educational notice regarding the 1st Round of online counselling for admission to 1st-year MBBS and BDS courses in the government medical and dental colleges of Assam for the 2026 session.
According to the notice dated August 23, 2026, the publication of the 1st Round online counselling result for State Quota seats has been postponed until further order.
The decision has been taken in view of the extension of the 1st Round counselling schedule by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Government of India.
The postponement applies to the publication of the result of the 1st Round of online counselling for State Quota seats for first-year MBBS and BDS courses in the government medical and dental colleges of Assam.
The DME Assam has not announced a new date for publication of the counselling result in the notice. Candidates will therefore have to wait for a further official announcement.
