The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has published the provisional select list of candidates after the second round of online counselling for admission to 1st year MBBS and BDS courses in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the 2026 session.
The provisional select list is available on the official DME Assam website. Candidates who have been newly selected or have received a change of college in Round 2 must complete the admission process within the prescribed dates.

Candidates failing to report within the prescribed schedule may have their allotment cancelled.
All candidates provisionally selected under the PwD category (Divyang) whose disability status has not previously been assessed by the Medical Board must appear for disability verification.

Candidates must carry all relevant certificates and documents in original for verification.
Failure to appear before the Medical Board on the prescribed date may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
Candidates who are newly selected in Round 2 or have been allotted a different college must report to the Principal of the respective allotted Medical or Dental College on September 17 or 18, 2026.
Candidates should complete all admission formalities within the prescribed deadline, failing which the allotment may be cancelled.
Candidates who were admitted during the first round of counselling and have now been re-allotted an MBBS or BDS seat in Round 2 will have their earlier seat and institution automatically cancelled.
Such candidates must report to their newly allotted Medical or Dental College.
They must also carry the acknowledgement receipt or documentary proof showing that their original certificates/testimonials were submitted to the previous institution.

Candidates should obtain an acknowledgement from the college authority for documents submitted during admission.
DME Assam has clarified that all admissions will remain provisional and will be subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria under the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017, as amended up to 2026.
Admission will also be subject to satisfactory medical fitness of the candidate.
Candidates are required to provide accurate information and declarations during the online selection and admission process.
If a candidate is found to have submitted false information, false declarations or fabricated documents, the admission may be cancelled at any stage.
DME Assam has also stated that criminal proceedings may be initiated against candidates involved in submitting false or fabricated documents/information under applicable law.
All candidates must enter into an agreement in the prescribed format as required under the applicable admission rules.

Candidates must submit the agreement to the Principal of the respective college within 15 days from the date of admission.
