Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round 2 Online Registration Begins September 6; Result on September 11

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has announced the schedule for the 2nd Round Online Counselling for admission to 1st-year MBBS and BDS courses in the Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the academic session 2026.

The counselling will be conducted for vacant MBBS and BDS seats under the State Quota. Candidates who have qualified in NEET UG 2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) can participate in the counselling, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed under the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017, as amended up to 2026, and meeting the applicable NEET UG 2026 cut-off score.

Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 2: Important Dates

Round 1 Candidates Do Not Need to Register Again

Candidates who have already registered and participated in the Round 1 Assam State Counselling do not need to register again for Round 2.

Such candidates will be able to participate in the Round 2 online choice-filling process for fresh allotment or for a possible change of college, as applicable.

Candidates participating in Round 2 should carefully review the available choices before submitting and locking their preferences.

Choice Filling and Locking

The online choice-filling window will remain open from September 8 to September 9, 2026, up to 10:00 PM.

Candidates can lock their choices on September 9, 2026, between 5:00 PM and 11:59 PM.

Candidates who do not lock their choices manually will have their choices automatically locked after the prescribed deadline, as stated in the notice.

Assam NEET UG Round 2 Seat Allotment

After completion of registration and choice filling, DME Assam will process the seat allotment from September 10 to September 11, 2026.

The Round 2 seat allotment result will be displayed on September 11, 2026, along with the modalities and instructions for admission.

Provisionally selected candidates will have to report to their respective allotted institutions and complete the admission process during the prescribed reporting period.

Reporting and Joining

Candidates who are provisionally selected in Round 2 will have to complete their reporting and admission formalities on September 17 or September 18, 2026, during office hours.

Candidates should follow the instructions issued along with the allotment result and carry all documents required for admission.

Failure to complete the admission process within the prescribed schedule may affect the candidate's admission as per the applicable counselling rules.

Eligibility for Assam NEET UG Round 2 Counselling

Candidates participating in the Round 2 counselling must:

  • Qualify NEET UG 2026 conducted by NTA.
  • Fulfil the eligibility requirements prescribed by the Assam admission rules.
  • Meet the applicable NEET UG 2026 cut-off score.
  • Complete the online counselling process within the prescribed deadlines.

Candidates should carefully read the applicable admission rules and official counselling instructions before participating.

How to Participate in Assam NEET UG Counselling Round 2

Candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official DME Assam website.
  2. Open the NEET UG counselling section.
  3. Complete online registration, if required.
  4. Log in to the counselling portal.
  5. Fill and submit preferred MBBS/BDS choices.
  6. Lock the choices within the prescribed time.
  7. Check the Round 2 seat allotment result on September 11, 2026.
  8. If allotted a seat, report to the allotted institution between September 17 and September 18, 2026.

Important Note for Candidates

Candidates should complete each counselling activity within the prescribed deadline.
