The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has issued an important corrigendum for the Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC)-2026 for admission to MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. courses in Bihar. The corrigendum was issued through Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/11 dated October 2, 2026, in continuation of Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/09 dated September 30, 2026.
The latest clarification is applicable to eligible and interested candidates who have qualified NEET(UG)-2026 and are participating in the Bihar UGMAC-2026 counselling process.
As per the corrigendum, a candidate who has selected UR, EWS, UR(DQ) or EWS(DQ) as the category while applying for admission to private medical or dental colleges of Bihar, but actually belongs to a reserved category such as BC, EBC, SC or ST, and has qualified NEET UG 2026, will still be eligible for admission to private medical and dental colleges and can participate in UGMAC-2026 counselling.
BCECEB has clarified that this provision should be treated as an integral part of the earlier UGMAC-2026 Advertisement No. 09 dated September 30, 2026. The clarification is particularly relevant for reserved-category candidates whose application category selection does not match their actual reserved-category status.
The UGMAC-2026 counselling is being conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. programmes in government medical, dental and veterinary colleges, the College of Fisheries, as well as private medical and dental colleges of Bihar.
Candidates participating in the counselling process should carefully check the eligibility and category-related provisions mentioned in the official UGMAC-2026 prospectus and advertisements before submitting their choices.
According to the BCECEB clarification, candidates belonging to BC, EBC, SC or ST categories who have qualified NEET UG 2026 can participate in UGMAC-2026 counselling for private medical and dental colleges even if they selected UR, EWS, UR(DQ) or EWS(DQ) in their application.
Candidates should ensure that they meet all other eligibility requirements prescribed under UGMAC-2026 and should keep the relevant category and supporting documents ready wherever required during the counselling and admission process.
The latest corrigendum does not replace the other provisions of the UGMAC-2026 advertisement. Candidates are advised to follow the official prospectus, advertisements and subsequent notices issued by BCECEB for the remaining counselling process.
