Who Can Participate in CENTAC MDS Round 2?

All students who are registered with CENTAC are eligible for Round 2 counselling, including candidates who were allotted a seat during Round 1.

This includes candidates who:

  • Were allotted a Round 1 seat and joined the allotted course.
  • Were allotted a Round 1 seat but did not join.
  • Did not receive a Round 1 seat.

Candidates should follow the applicable registration fee rules before participating in Round 2.

CENTAC MDS Round 2 Registration Fee

Candidates participating in Round 2 are required to pay the prescribed registration fee according to their quota and category.

Government Quota

For U.T. of Puducherry candidates only, the registration fee is:

Category Registration Fee
GE / EWS / OBC / MBC / BCM / BT INR 25,000
EBC / SC / ST INR 10,000

The INR 10,000 fee also applies to EBC/SC/ST candidates admitted through Round 1 who wish to participate in Round 2.

Management, Telugu Minority and NRI Quota

Quota / Category Registration Fee
MQ / MQT / NRI / NRI-SP / OCI / OCI-SP / PIO / FN INR 2,00,000

Only candidates who pay the prescribed registration fee will be considered for Round 2, subject to the exceptions specified by CENTAC.

Round 1 Admitted Candidates: Fee Payment Rules

Candidates who have already been admitted through Round 1, except EBC/SC/ST candidates, can participate in Round 2 without paying the registration fee again.

However, EBC/SC/ST candidates admitted through Round 1 must pay the applicable registration fee to participate in Round 2:

  • Government Quota: INR 10,000
  • Management/NRI Quota: INR 2,00,000

Puducherry candidates who opt for both Government and Management Quota seats need to pay the registration fee applicable to Management Quota, i.e. INR 2,00,000.

Candidates have been advised to transfer the registration fee to the CENTAC account through Net Banking or by generating an NEFT/RTGS challan through the payment option available in their dashboard.

Candidates should pay the exact amount reflected in the challan. The NEFT/RTGS challan generated through the dashboard can be used only once.

Fresh Course Preferences Mandatory for Round 2

CENTAC has clarified that the course preferences submitted during Round 1 will be treated as null and void for Round 2.

Therefore, every candidate participating in Round 2 must submit fresh course preferences.

Candidates should carefully arrange their preferences because:

  • Sliding will be allowed during Round 2.
  • Vacancies may arise dynamically in different courses during allotment.
  • Candidates should submit preferences irrespective of the vacancies currently published.
  • No seat will be allotted if the course preference list is empty.
  • Candidates are solely responsible for the order of preferences submitted.
  • No request to change course preferences will be entertained after the Round 2 registration deadline.

What Happens If a New Seat Is Allotted?

CENTAC has stated that once a candidate submits willingness for Round 2 and a new seat is allotted based on the fresh Round 2 course preferences, the course in which the candidate was admitted during Round 1 will be automatically cancelled.

Candidates should therefore carefully consider their course preferences before submitting them.

Resignation of Round 1 Admitted Seat

Candidates who joined a CENTAC-allotted Round 1 seat but now wish to resign or withdraw from the admitted seat without a Forfeiture Fee can submit their Resignation Request Letter.

The request must be submitted through the Candidate Login Dashboard using the prescribed format given in Annexure 15, Page 71 of the PG Dental Information Brochure.

Resignation Deadline

September 22, 2026, up to 5:00 PM

Candidates intending to surrender their Round 1 admitted seat should ensure that the resignation request is submitted before the deadline.

Forfeiture of Round 2 Registration Fee

CENTAC has specified the following rules regarding the registration fee:

  • If a candidate is allotted a seat and joins the allotted seat, the registration fee will be adjusted against the tuition fee.
  • The candidate will have to pay the balance tuition fee after adjusting the registration fee already paid.
  • If a candidate is not allotted any seat, the registration fee paid will be refunded after completion of the entire counselling process.
  • If a candidate is allotted a seat but does not join the course, the registration fee will be forfeited.

Candidates should carefully read the applicable counselling instructions before submitting their choices and willingness.

Fee Structure at Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College and Research Institute

CENTAC has also referred to the Interim Order dated September 8, 2026, in W.P. No. 15159 of 2026 concerning the fee structure of Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College and Research Institute.

As stated in the notice, the fee structure for the PG Dental course at the institution will be as prescribed in the order cited by the Hon'ble Court in respect of the MBBS course, subject to the final outcome of the case.

Candidates should refer to the applicable official fee notification and court order for the detailed fee structure.
