The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Puducherry, has issued a notice regarding Round 2 counselling for UG NEET-based medical courses for the academic year 2026-27.
The notice dated September 8, 2026 covers Round 2 registration, payment of registration fees, submission of fresh course preferences and resignation/withdrawal of Round 1 admitted seats.
The Round 1 admitted list and vacancy position have also been published on the official CENTAC website. The official CENTAC portal confirms the September 8 notice for Round 2 registration, course preferences and resignation of Round 1 admitted seats.
Candidates can participate in Round 2 counselling without any restriction based on their Round 1 allotment status.
Candidates registered with CENTAC, including those who were allotted seats in Round 1 and joined or did not join, are eligible to participate in Round 2.
Round 2 counselling covers first-year admission to:
The counselling covers Government and Self-Financing Medical, Dental and Ayurveda colleges in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
Registration Fee Payment, Willingness and Course Preference Submission:
September 10, 2026, up to 5:00 PM
Candidates must complete all required steps within the prescribed deadline.
The registration fee varies according to quota and category.
| Quota | Category | Registration Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Government Quota | GE/EWS/OBC/MBC/BCM/BT | INR 10,000 |
| Government Quota | EBC/SC/ST/GSS | INR 5,000 |
| Management & NRI | MQ/NRI/NRI-SP/OCI/OCI-SP/PIO/FN | INR 2,00,000 |
Only candidates who pay the applicable registration fee will be considered for Round 2, subject to the exceptions mentioned by CENTAC.
Candidates already admitted through Round 1, except EBC/SC/ST/GSS candidates, can participate in Round 2 without paying the registration fee again.
However, Round 1-admitted EBC/SC/ST/GSS candidates must pay:
Puducherry candidates opting for both Government and Management Quota need to pay the Management Quota registration fee of INR 2,00,000.
Candidates are required to transfer the registration fee to the CENTAC account through Net Banking or by generating an NEFT/RTGS challan through their dashboard.
Candidates should pay the exact amount mentioned in the generated challan. In case of NEFT/RTGS, the generated challan can be used only once.
Candidates should carefully read the payment instructions available in their dashboard before making the payment.
CENTAC has specified different rules depending on the outcome of Round 2 allotment.
Candidates must submit their course preferences afresh for Round 2.
The preferences submitted during Round 1 will become null and void for Round 2.
CENTAC has advised candidates to submit preferences carefully because sliding will be allowed in Round 2. As a result, vacancies can arise dynamically in different courses during the allotment process.
Candidates are therefore advised to submit preferences irrespective of the currently published vacancy position.
No seat will be allotted if the course preference list is empty.
Once the Round 2 deadline expires, candidates cannot request changes to their submitted preferences.
Candidates participating in Round 2 should carefully understand the sliding and upgradation rule.
If a candidate submits willingness for Round 2 and receives a new seat based on Round 2 preferences, the course in which the candidate was admitted during Round 1 will be automatically cancelled.
Candidates cannot retain both the previous Round 1 seat and the newly allotted Round 2 seat.
Candidates who joined their CENTAC-allotted Round 1 seat but now want to resign or withdraw can submit a Resignation Request Letter through their Candidate Login Dashboard.
The resignation can be submitted without forfeiture fee within the prescribed deadline.
September 11, 2026, up to 5:00 PM
Candidates should use the prescribed Annexure-17 from the UG NEET Information Brochure while submitting the resignation request.
CENTAC has also referred to the Interim Order dated September 8, 2026 in W.P. No. 15159 of 2026 concerning the fee structure of Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College and Research Institute.
As stated in the notice, the fee structure for the institution will follow the fee structure extracted by the Hon'ble Court in the relevant interim order, subject to the final outcome of the case.
CENTAC has further stated that the fee for the Dental course at Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College & Research Institute will correspond to the fee prescribed in the cited court order for the MBBS course.
According to directions received from RIVER, only the following candidates are eligible for vacant NRI seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H.:
Candidates should ensure that they satisfy the applicable eligibility conditions before selecting such seats.
