The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Puducherry, has issued Notice Ref. No. CENTAC/UG-NEET/2026/21 dated September 24, 2026, regarding Round 3 counselling for UG NEET-based medical courses for the academic year 2026-27.

The Round 2 admitted list and vacancy position have been published on the official CENTAC website. Candidates who are already allotted seats in Round 1 or Round 2, whether joined or not joined, are also eligible to participate in Round 3, subject to the applicable rules.

CENTAC UG NEET Round 3 Counselling 2026

For Round 3 admission to first-year MBBS, BDS, BAMS (Ayurveda) and B.V.Sc. & A.H. (National SS) courses, CENTAC has enabled registration, payment of the registration fee and submission of course preferences.

The counselling covers Government and Self-Financing Medical, Dental and Ayurveda colleges in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Candidates can participate under:

• Government Quota (GQ)
• Management Quota (MQ)
• Management – Telugu Minority Quota (MQT)
• NRI Quota

The Round 3 registration and course preference submission window is open from:

September 24, 2026 to October 5, 2026, up to 5:00 PM

Important Dates for CENTAC Round 3

Candidates should complete all required activities before the deadline.

Candidates From Round 1 and Round 2 Can Participate

CENTAC has clarified that all candidates registered with CENTAC, including candidates who received allotments in Round 1 or Round 2, can participate in Round 3.

This includes candidates who:

• Were allotted a seat in Round 1 and joined.
• Were allotted a seat in Round 1 but did not join.
• Were allotted a seat in Round 2 and joined.
• Were allotted a seat in Round 2 but did not join.

Candidates participating in Round 3 should carefully review the rules regarding sliding, seat cancellation, resignation and forfeiture before submitting fresh preferences.

Round 3 Sliding Rules

Candidates who are already admitted through Round 1 or Round 2 and receive a new seat based on their Round 3 course preferences will have their earlier admission automatically cancelled.

For candidates sliding from a previously admitted seat, joining the newly allotted Round 3 seat is mandatory.

If a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 3 but fails to join, the applicable forfeiture amount for the course, quota and category will be forfeited.

Such candidates will also become ineligible for further rounds of counselling.

CENTAC will publish the list of candidates who become ineligible after Round 3 admissions.

Round 3 Seats Cannot Be Resigned After Admission

CENTAC has issued important restrictions regarding resignation after Round 3.

Candidates admitted in Round 1 or Round 2 who retain their seats in Round 3, or candidates allotted and admitted through Round 3, will not be permitted to resign their seats after Round 3 admission.

Therefore, candidates should carefully fill their course preferences and select only courses they are prepared to join.

Round 1/2 Seat Withdrawal Facility

Candidates who have already joined a CENTAC-allotted seat in Round 1 or Round 2 and now wish to resign or withdraw their admission can submit a Resignation Request Letter.

The request must be submitted through the Candidate Login Dashboard on or before:

October 5, 2026, up to 5:00 PM

Candidates must use the prescribed Annexure-19 from the UG NEET Information Brochure.

Withdrawal will be subject to the applicable forfeiture of the Round 2 registration fee.

CENTAC Round 3 Registration Fee

Candidates participating in Round 3 must submit their willingness, pay the applicable Registration Fee and then submit their course preferences.

The fee varies according to quota, category and courses selected.

Government Quota

For Government Quota seats for U.T. of Puducherry candidates only:

Management & NRI Quota

Candidates opting for both Government Quota and Management/NRI Quota must pay the applicable INR 2,00,000 registration fee for participation in Round 3.

Payment Instructions

Candidates must transfer the registration fee to the CENTAC account through the payment facility available in their dashboard.

Payment can be made through:

• Net Banking
• NEFT
• RTGS using the generated challan

Candidates must pay the exact amount shown in the challan to prevent the transaction from being returned.

For NEFT/RTGS payments, the generated challan can be used only once.

Candidates are advised to carefully read the HELP Instructions before proceeding with payment.

Rules for Already Admitted Candidates

Candidates who were already admitted through Round 1 or Round 2 can participate in Round 3 without paying the registration fee, except for certain categories specified by CENTAC.

Candidates belonging to EBC/SC/ST/GSS Government Quota who were admitted in Round 1 or Round 2 must pay the applicable Round 3 registration fee, or the balance amount if a registration fee was already paid during Round 2.

Rules for Candidates Not Admitted in Round 2

Candidates who were not allotted any seat in Round 2 must follow the applicable registration fee rules.

Candidates Who Did Not Pay Round 2 Registration Fee

Candidates who did not pay any registration fee in Round 2 must pay the full Round 3 registration fee and submit fresh course preferences.

Candidates Who Paid but Were Not Allotted a Seat

Candidates who paid the Round 2 registration fee but were not allotted a seat must pay the balance amount, if there is a difference between the Round 2 and Round 3 registration fees.

Candidates Allotted a Round 2 Seat but Did Not Join

Candidates who were allotted a Round 2 seat but did not join will have their Round 2 registration fee forfeited as per the applicable quota.

Such candidates must pay the full Round 3 registration fee again to participate in Round 3.

Refund and Forfeiture Rules

CENTAC has specified different rules for refund and forfeiture of the registration fee.

• Candidates not allotted a seat in Round 2 will receive a refund of the applicable registration fee.
• Candidates allotted a Round 3 seat who join the course will have the registration fee adjusted against the tuition fee.
• Candidates allotted a Round 3 seat who fail to join will have the applicable amount forfeited according to the course and quota.
• Any remaining balance fee, if applicable, will be refunded.
• Refunds will be initiated only after completion of the entire UG NEET counselling process.

Fresh Course Preferences Mandatory

One of the most important instructions for Round 3 is that the course preferences submitted in Round 2 will become null and void.

All candidates participating in Round 3 must submit their course preferences afresh.

Candidates should carefully arrange their choices because:

• Sliding will be allowed in Round 3.
• Vacancies may arise dynamically during allotment.
• Candidates should submit preferences irrespective of the vacancies displayed.
• No request to change course preferences will be entertained after the Round 3 deadline.
• No seat will be allotted if the course preference list is empty.

Candidates should therefore fill their preferences carefully before submitting them.

NRI Seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H.

As per the directions mentioned in the notice, only NRI/OCI candidates and wards of NRI/OCI parents are eligible for the NRI vacant seats in B.V.Sc. & A.H.

Candidates seeking these seats should ensure that they satisfy the applicable eligibility requirements.

Conversion of Unfilled Seats

CENTAC has also provided rules for conversion of unfilled seats during Round 3.

Unfilled NRI seats, if any, in IGMCRI, MGPGIDS and RIVER, Puducherry, will be converted into Self-Supporting seats (All India Management Quota seats) and filled during Round 3.

If converted Self-Supporting seats in IGMCRI and MGPGIDS remain vacant, they will subsequently be converted into Government Quota seats and allotted during Round 3.

Similarly, after filling the Telugu Minority Management Quota seats, remaining vacant seats will be converted into All India Management Quota seats and filled during Round 3 after exhausting the Minority Quota merit list.

Accordingly, Management Quota course preferences have been enabled in Round 3.
