The Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh has issued an important notice for candidates seeking admission under the NRI quota during the second round of NEET UG State Counselling 2026.As per the notice dated August 31, 2026, candidates claiming NRI eligibility for admission through the state counselling process must submit the required documents for verification within the prescribed timeline.
Candidates claiming NRI quota eligibility must submit their documents through email within the following schedule:

Applications and documents received after the prescribed deadline will not be accepted.
Candidates must prepare clear, readable and colour-scanned copies of all original NRI eligibility documents and combine them into one single PDF file.The documents must be arranged in sequence before being sent to the designated email address.
Candidates must also use the prescribed subject line in their email:
“NEET UG 2026 - NRI Quota Document Verification Candidate Name - NEET RollNumber”
Black-and-white scans and unclear or unreadable documents will not be accepted.
According to the notice, candidates claiming NRI quota eligibility may be required to submit the following documents, as applicable:
The documents submitted by candidates will be examined by the committee constituted by the Directorate of Medical Education according to the applicable rules and guidelines.Only candidates found eligible for NRI quota will be considered for allotment of seats under the NRI category.
Candidates found ineligible for NRI quota will not be allotted seats under the NRI category. However, their applications will not be cancelled, and they may continue participating in the counselling process according to their other eligible category.
The notice clarifies that candidates seeking admission under the NRI quota will not have to complete separate registration or separate choice filling for the NRI category.However, such candidates must complete the general online registration and choice filling according to the prescribed counselling schedule.
Candidates should note that the documents submitted through email will be compared with the original documents at the time of admission.
If any document is found to be incorrect, incomplete, misleading or inconsistent, necessary action will be taken according to the applicable rules.Candidates are therefore advised to ensure that all documents are valid, updated, complete and submitted in the prescribed format.
