The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh has invited eligible candidates to participate in Round 2 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in government and private medical and dental colleges of the state.
The notification dated September 4, 2026 invites fresh online applications from eligible candidates as well as institution choices from candidates who were already registered for the counselling process.
| Counselling Activity | Schedule |
|---|---|
| Online Registration | September 5–8, 2026 |
| Choice Filling & Locking | September 5–9, 2026 |
Online registration will start at 11:00 AM on September 5, 2026, and close at 11:59 PM on September 8, 2026.
Choice filling and locking will begin at 11:00 AM on September 5, 2026, and continue until 11:59 PM on September 9, 2026.
Candidates who were allotted and admitted to a seat in Round 1 and want to participate for upgradation must first provide their consent through the counselling portal and then submit fresh institution choices.
Candidates who were already registered must also select institutions again for Round 2, as their previous institution choices have become invalid. Candidates who do not submit fresh choices will not be considered for seat allotment in Round 2.
Candidates who previously selected only government medical colleges but now wish to select private medical colleges may have to pay the difference between the prescribed registration fee for private colleges and the amount already paid.
Candidates should carefully select only those colleges and courses where they are genuinely willing to take admission.
As per the notice, if a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 2 or subsequent counselling rounds but does not take admission, or takes admission and later surrenders the seat, the registration amount deposited by the candidate will be forfeited, as per the applicable rules.
Candidates are therefore advised to carefully consider their choices before submitting and locking them.
Candidates should regularly check the official websites for counselling updates, notices and further schedules:
The counselling process, including registration fee payment, institution selection, subject selection and choice locking, must be completed by the candidate. Any cancellation resulting from incorrect or incomplete information will be the responsibility of the candidate.
