Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr NTRUHS), Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has issued a notice regarding the conversion of unfilled Competent Authority (NRI) quota seats into Competent Authority (Self-Financing) seats for MBBS admissions for the academic year 2026–27.
According to the notice dated October 24, 2026, the decision follows a communication from the Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh. The conversion applies to two newly established government medical colleges: Government Medical College, Vizianagaram, and Government Medical College, Paderu.
The converted seats will be filled during Stray Round 2 counselling. Eligible candidates participating in the counselling process should take note of the revised seat category and applicable fee.
The university has announced the conversion of 12 unfilled NRI quota seats across the two colleges.

The annual fee applicable to the converted seats will be as specified under Government Order (G.O.) Ms. No. 108, dated July 19, 2023, issued by the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department of Andhra Pradesh.
The conversion makes the previously unfilled Competent Authority NRI seats available under the Competent Authority Self-Financing category for the specified Stray Round 2 counselling process.
Candidates should carefully review the applicable eligibility requirements, seat matrix, counselling instructions and fee obligations before exercising their options or accepting an allotment. The notice specifically identifies three converted seats at Vizianagaram and nine at Paderu.
