Haryana MDS Admission 2026-27: Admission Procedure, Reservation, Eligibility and Counselling Rules Notified

The Haryana Government, Medical Education and Research Department has notified the admission procedure for Post Graduate Dental (MDS) courses for the academic session 2026-27.

The notification, dated September 8, 2026, supersedes earlier notifications regarding MDS admissions in the state. It covers Government, Private Dental Educational Institutions and Dental Institutions functioning under State Private Universities in Haryana.

Haryana MDS Admission 2026-27: Key Reservation Rules

For Government Dental Institutions, 50% of seats will be assigned to the All India Merit Category of NEET MDS 2026, while the remaining 50% will be assigned under the Haryana State Merit Category.

Up to 40% of State Quota seats in MDS specialities may be reserved for eligible Haryana Government in-service candidates and eligible candidates serving in ESIC hospitals, dispensaries, other organisations and autonomous bodies of the State Government.

The notification also provides 25% Institutional Preference reservation for candidates who have passed their BDS course from institutions located in Haryana for admission to MDS under State Quota seats.

In addition, 5% seats are reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities (PWBD) as per applicable provisions and guidelines.

For Private Dental Institutions, 50% seats will be filled under Open Merit/State Quota, while the remaining 50% will be filled under the Management Category.

MDS Colleges Covered Under Haryana Admission 2026-27

The notification covers MDS admission in the following institutions, subject to the required final approvals:

Government Dental College

  • Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences (PGIDS), Rohtak

Private Dental Colleges

  • Swami Devi Dayal Hospital and Dental College, Golpura, Barwala
  • J.N. Kapoor DAV Centenary Dental College, Yamuna Nagar
  • JCD Dental College, Sirsa
  • Sudha Rustagi Dental College and Hospital, Faridabad
  • SGT Dental College, Hospital and Research Institute, Budhera, Gurugram, under SGT University

The final seat distribution for different MDS specialities and institutions will be notified separately and will remain subject to approval from the Government of India, National Dental Commission, State Government and concerned affiliating university.

Who Can Apply for Haryana MDS Admission 2026?

Candidates seeking admission to Government Dental Institutions and State Quota seats in Private Dental Institutions must fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions.

The candidate must be an Indian citizen and must have passed the BDS examination from a recognised institution. For State Quota admission, the candidate must satisfy the applicable Haryana resident requirements or the conditions prescribed for candidates who passed BDS from recognised institutions outside Haryana.

Candidates applying under the Management Category in private institutions can apply from across India, irrespective of their state of domicile or place of study.

Candidates must also have completed the required one-year compulsory Rotatory Internship from a recognised institution and must be registered with a State Dental Council/National Dental Commission, as applicable.

Candidates must satisfy the minimum qualifying criteria prescribed for NEET MDS 2026. A candidate who has not obtained the required minimum eligibility marks in NEET MDS 2026 will not be eligible for admission.

Haryana MDS Counselling 2026 to Be Conducted Online

The Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak has been authorised to conduct the Combined Centralized Online Counselling for MDS admissions in Haryana on the basis of NEET MDS 2026 merit.

Candidates will have to register through the authorised admission web portal. Counselling schedules and portal details will be published through the official university and Department of Medical Education and Research websites.

Candidates will be required to enter their preferred course, speciality and institution online. The choices submitted in order of preference will be considered final after the prescribed deadline.

Seat allotment will be based on NEET MDS 2026 merit and the choices/preferences submitted by the candidate.

The online counselling result will remain provisional until physical verification of eligibility and original documents.

Document Verification Mandatory After Seat Allotment

Candidates who are provisionally allotted an MDS seat must appear personally before the Admission Committee at Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak for document verification.

Candidates must produce their original certificates and documents. Attested photocopies alone will not be accepted for admission verification.

If the required original documents are not produced or the documents are found invalid or incomplete, the provisional seat allocation may be cancelled.

Haryana MDS Counselling 2026: Second Round Rules

If seats remain vacant after the first round, they will be filled during subsequent counselling rounds.

Fresh candidates will be allowed to register for the second round. Candidates who have already registered for the first round and wish to participate in the second round will not have to register again, but they will have to submit their willingness/option online.

Candidates participating in the second round will also have to submit fresh preferences for seats they wish to upgrade to.

As specified in the notification, candidates opting only for State Quota seats in Government/Government-aided Dental Institutions will have to deposit INR 25,000, or INR 12,500 for reserved category candidates. Candidates opting for State Quota seats in both Government and Private Dental Institutions will have to deposit INR 2,00,000.

The applicable amount will subsequently be adjusted against the first-year PG course fee or refunded if no seat is allotted, as per the notified rules.

Haryana MDS Counselling Registration Fee

Candidates participating in the counselling process will have to pay a non-refundable registration fee:

MDS Fee Structure at PGIDS Rohtak

The notification specifies the following college and university fee structure for MDS courses at PGIDS Rohtak:

The notification also specifies hostel-related charges separately. Fees may be revised by the State Government before counselling if a revised fee structure is notified.

Bond and Penalty Rules for Leaving MDS Course

Candidates joining an MDS course in Haryana must comply with the prescribed bond conditions.

If a candidate leaves the course midway after the specified cut-off period before the final admission deadline, the candidate may be debarred from applying for admission to any PG course in Haryana for three years.

The candidate may also be required to pay INR 10 lakh as bond money, in addition to other applicable financial liabilities prescribed in the notification.

Candidates are therefore advised to carefully consider their course and college preferences before taking admission.

NRI Category in Haryana MDS Admission

The notification provides for 15% of Management Quota seats in Private Dental Colleges affiliated with Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, including applicable Private University institutions, to be reserved for the NRI category.

Admission under the NRI category will be based on NEET MDS 2026 merit. NEET-qualified PIOs, OCIs and Foreign Nationals may also be eligible under the prescribed NRI admission rules.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Candidates interested in Haryana MDS Admission 2026-27 should regularly monitor the official counselling portal and websites of Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak and the Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Haryana.

Candidates should keep their NEET MDS 2026 documents, BDS certificates, internship completion certificate, dental council registration and applicable category/residence certificates ready before counselling registration.

Candidates must verify their eligibility and category documents carefully before participating in counselling to avoid cancellation of candidature or seat allotment.
