The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has issued an important public notice regarding the preparation of the State Merit List for Post-Graduate Dental State Quota seats for the academic session 2026-27.
The notice, issued on August 24, 2026, is in continuation of Advertisement No. JCECEB/48/26-65 dated August 20, 2026. According to the Board, the State Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the NEET (MDS)-2026 result and the category and/or PwD claims made by candidates in their NEET MDS 2026 online application.
JCECEB has clarified that candidates must ensure consistency between the category mentioned in their NEET MDS 2026 application form and the category claimed in the State Merit List application.
Candidates who enter a category in the State Merit List application that is different from the category mentioned in their NEET MDS 2026 application will generally be considered under the Unreserved category.
However, an exception has been provided in cases where there is a difference between the Central and State caste lists. In such cases, candidates may be considered under their claimed category after uploading the original caste certificate along with the application form.
The Board has also provided a specific option for OBC candidates of NEET MDS 2026.
Such candidates will be given the option to choose either BC-I or BC-II for consideration under the Jharkhand State category system.
Candidates should carefully select the applicable category while completing the State Merit List application and ensure that they possess the required supporting documents.
JCECEB has stated that Advertisement No. JCECEB/48/26-65 dated August 20, 2026 should be considered modified to this extent.
All other terms and conditions of the earlier advertisement will remain unchanged.

Candidates participating in Jharkhand NEET MDS Counselling 2026 should carefully review the category and PwD information submitted in their State Merit List application.
Candidates claiming a category based on differences between the Central and State caste lists should ensure that the original caste certificate is uploaded as required by the Board.
