The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has issued an important notice regarding correction of category and other relevant particulars in the State Merit List based on NEET (UG)-2026 results.

The State Merit List has been prepared for conducting the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Stray Vacancy rounds of online counselling for admission to State Quota seats in MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses in Jharkhand.

According to the notice, the Board has received representations from certain candidates requesting corrections in their category and other relevant particulars. JCECEB has clarified that only representations submitted according to the provisions specified in Clause 7 of Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated August 6, 2026 will be considered.

JCECEB NEET UG 2026 Merit List Correction

Candidates whose names were included in the State Merit Lists published on August 14, 2026 have been directed to submit a fresh application if they require correction in their category or other relevant particulars.

The application must clearly mention the required correction(s) and must be accompanied by the necessary supporting documents.

Correction Application Deadline

The Board has prescribed a specific date for submitting applications for correction.

Date: September 3, 2026

JCECEB has clearly stated that applications received after the stipulated date will not be entertained.

Similarly, applications submitted without the required supporting documents will also not be considered.

Candidates should therefore ensure that their correction application is complete and all relevant documents are attached before submission.

Valid Category Certificates Required

JCECEB has clarified the requirements for category certificates.

For ST, SC, BCI (NCL), BCII (NCL) and I&A (for EWS) categories, only certificates issued by an officer not below the level of Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of the Jharkhand State will be accepted.

Candidates seeking correction in their category details should carefully verify that their supporting certificate meets the prescribed authority requirements.

Which Courses Are Covered?

The State Merit List is being used for online counselling for admission to State Quota seats in the following courses:

• MBBS
• BDS
• BHMS

The correction process is therefore important for eligible candidates participating in the upcoming rounds of Jharkhand NEET UG Counselling 2026.

What Candidates Need to Do

Candidates whose names appeared in the State Merit Lists published on August 14, 2026 and who require correction should:

1. Prepare a fresh application clearly mentioning the required correction.
2. Attach the relevant supporting documents.
3. Ensure that category certificates meet the prescribed issuing-authority requirements.
4. Send the application by email to controller.jceceb@gmail.com.
5. Submit the application only on September 3, 2026.
6. Keep a copy of the application and supporting documents for future reference.

The Board will scrutinise the applications received on September 3 and take appropriate action as per the applicable provisions.

No Applications After September 3

Candidates should note that the correction opportunity is subject to a strict deadline. JCECEB has stated that no request received after September 3, 2026, or without the requisite supporting documents will be entertained under any circumstances.

The Board will scrutinise the applications received on the prescribed date and take appropriate action wherever the request complies with the applicable provisions.

JCECEB has also informed candidates that Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated August 6, 2026, which was published in daily newspapers and uploaded on the Board's website, can be accessed under the “Important Notice” section.
