The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has confirmed that the KCET (UGCET) 2026 option entry window will be reopened after the declaration of the mock seat allotment results. The decision offers relief to candidates who either missed the initial option entry deadline or wish to revise their previously submitted preferences.

According to KEA, both existing candidates and those who could not complete option entry earlier will be allowed to add new options, modify existing choices, delete preferences, or rearrange the order of colleges and courses during the reopened window.

Option Entry to Reopen After Mock Allotment

The initial option entry process concluded on 30 June 2026. KEA has clarified that candidates should not panic if they were unable to complete the process, as a fresh option entry and modification window will be made available after the mock allotment results are published.

The mock seat allotment result is scheduled to be announced on 6 July 2026, after which candidates will be able to review their probable allotment and make necessary changes to their preference list before the final Round 1 seat allotment.

Candidates Can Modify Their Preferences

During the reopened window, candidates will be able to:

  • Add new colleges and courses.
  • Delete previously selected options.
  • Rearrange the order of preferences.
  • Update their final choice list before the first seat allotment.

KEA has advised candidates to use this opportunity wisely, as the final allotment will be based on the updated option list, merit rank, reservation rules, and seat availability.

What Candidates Should Do
