KEAM 2026: Kerala MBBS BDS Second Phase Allotment Begins, Option Confirmation by September 11

The Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala has commenced activities related to the Second Phase Allotment to MBBS/BDS courses under KEAM 2026.

The second phase covers State Quota seats in Government Colleges and seats available in Self-Financing Medical and Dental Colleges. Candidates who want their higher-order MBBS/BDS options to be considered in the second phase must complete Online Option Confirmation through their candidate homepage.

According to the notification dated September 7, 2026, candidates can confirm, rearrange or delete options within the prescribed timeline.

Online Option Confirmation Mandatory for Second Phase

Candidates who want their higher-order options to be considered for the second phase allotment must log in to their CEE Kerala candidate homepage and click the “Confirm” button.

After confirming their options, candidates can:

  • Rearrange higher-order options
  • Delete unwanted courses
  • Delete unwanted colleges
  • Modify their preferences, wherever applicable

The facility will remain available until September 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

Online option confirmation is mandatory for candidates who were admitted in the first phase as well as candidates who received no allotment in the first phase if they want to be considered for the second phase.

What Happens If Candidates Do Not Confirm Options?

CEE Kerala has clarified that candidates who do not confirm their options after first-phase admission will have their first-phase admission retained.

However, candidates who wish to participate in the second phase allotment must complete the online option confirmation process within the prescribed deadline.

Candidates are advised to confirm only those courses and colleges where they are genuinely willing to take admission.

First Phase Seat Vacating Deadline

Candidates who were admitted through the first-phase allotment but now wish to vacate their allotted MBBS/BDS seat can do so on or before:

September 10, 2026, 5:00 PM

Candidates who vacate their first-phase seats will not be considered for further rounds of centralised allotment to MBBS/BDS courses.

The schedule is tentative and subject to change according to the MCC counselling schedule.

NRI Quota Option Registration

CEE Kerala has also opened the Option Registration facility for NRI Quota seats available in Self-Financing Medical and Dental Colleges.

Candidates seeking admission under the NRI Quota must submit their options for the respective colleges through the CEE Kerala website within the stipulated period.

Only candidates included in the NRI Category List published by CEE Kerala will be considered for allotment to NRI Quota seats.

Candidates belonging to the Non-Keralite II NRI category will be considered only if eligible candidates from the Keralite and Non-Keralite I categories are not available.

Option Registration for Azeezia College

The option registration facility will also be available during this phase for Azeezia College of Dental Sciences & Research, Kollam.

CEE Kerala has clarified that the facility for option registration will not be available in the subsequent phase.

Candidates should therefore use the current phase to submit their options if they wish to be considered for the applicable seats.

What Candidates Should Do After Allotment

Candidates who receive an allotment in the second phase must:

  1. Download the allotment memo.
  2. Check the allotted course and college.
  3. Remit the required fee or balance fee, as applicable.
  4. Report to the allotted college within the prescribed joining period.
  5. Complete all admission formalities.

Candidates who fail to take admission within the stipulated time will lose the allotment and will not be considered for further centralised allotment.

Fee Payment Rules

Candidates allotted seats in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges must pay the fee or balance fee shown in the allotment memo to the concerned college.

Candidates allotted seats in Government Medical/Dental Colleges must pay the complete prescribed fee to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

Fee Exemption

Candidates allotted under the following categories are exempted from paying the token fee, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification:

  • SC
  • ST
  • OEC
  • Fishermen category
  • Candidates covered under G.O.(MS)25/2005/SCSTDD dated June 20, 2005
  • Candidates covered under G.O.(MS)10/2014/BCDD dated May 23, 2014
  • Candidates from Sree Chitra Home
  • Candidates from Juvenile Home
  • Candidates from Nirbhaya Home

However, if such candidates are allotted seats under Minority/NRI Quota in Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges, they will have to pay the prescribed token fee and will not be eligible for the fee concession.

Self-Financing College Fee for 2026-27

CEE Kerala has stated that the fee for the 2026-27 academic year has not yet been fixed for Self-Financing Medical/Dental Colleges.

Therefore, candidates allotted seats in these colleges will provisionally pay the fee fixed for the 2025-26 academic year.

If the fee subsequently fixed for 2026-27 by the Admission Supervisory Committee, Government or Hon'ble High Court is higher than the 2025-26 fee, candidates will have to pay the applicable balance amount.

Important Instructions for Candidates

CEE Kerala has advised candidates to confirm options only for courses and colleges where they are sure they will join and continue their studies if allotted.
