The Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala, has approved the revised seat matrix for admission to the MBBS course at Dr. Somervel Memorial CSI Medical College, Karakonam, Thiruvananthapuram for the academic year 2026-27.

The approval has been issued through G.O.(Ms) No.265/2026/H&FWD dated September 9, 2026. The order modifies the earlier government order to the extent of the revised seat distribution.

According to the revised seat matrix approved by the Kerala Government, the college has a total of 200 MBBS seats.

The approved distribution is as follows:

The Community category can account for up to 50% of the total seats, while the NRI category can account for up to 15% of the total seats, as specified in the approved matrix.

The AIQ component consists of 24 seats, representing 15% of the total 200 seats.

Revised Seat Matrix Approved for 2026-27

The Kerala Government has specifically approved the revised seat distribution for Dr. Somervel Memorial CSI Medical College, Karakonam, with the college code SMC.

The revised matrix has been approved following communications from the Director of Medical Education (DME), Kerala, dated August 24 and September 8, 2026.

The order modifies the earlier government order to the extent of the revised seat matrix.

The revised distribution will be applicable for MBBS admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.

The Kerala Government has also directed the concerned authorities, including the DME, CEE Kerala, Kerala University of Health Sciences and the college authorities, to take necessary action in accordance with the approved seat matrix.
