The Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala, has approved the Service Quota seats in Government Dental Colleges and the seat matrix for admission to Post Graduate Courses in Dental Surgery (MDS) for the academic year 2026-27.
The approval was issued through G.O.(Rt) No. 2803/2026/H&FWD dated 21 August 2026 from the Health & Family Welfare (S) Department, Thiruvananthapuram. The order follows proposals submitted by the Director of Medical Education, Kerala and the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.
According to the approved category-wise seat distribution, the MDS seat matrix contains a total of 301 seats. The distribution includes 185 Unreserved (UR), 24 Scheduled Caste (SC), 6 Scheduled Tribe (ST), 24 Ezhava (EZ), 21 Muslim (MU), 21 Backward Hindu (BH), 21 Latin Catholic & Anglo Indians (LA), 9 Backward Christian (BX), 3 Kudumbi (KU), 4 Economically Weaker Sections (EW), 3 Persons with Disabilities (PD) and 1 UR-PD seat.
The approved matrix covers multiple MDS specialisations, including Conservative Dentistry, Oral Medicine & Radiology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, Public Health Dentistry, Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Prosthodontics and Periodontics.
The order includes seat details for Government Dental Colleges as well as several private dental institutions in Kerala. The Government Dental Colleges specifically identified in the seat matrix include Government Dental College, Kozhikode; Government Dental College, Kottayam; and Government Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram.
The Government has also approved service quota seats in Government Dental Colleges. The service quota details include MDS clinical courses such as Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and Periodontology, as specified in the approved order.
