The Government of Kerala, Health & Family Welfare Department has approved the seat matrix for admission to the MBBS course at Palakkad Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Walayar for the academic year 2026-27.
The approval was issued through G.O.(Ms) No.241/2026/H&FWD dated August 20, 2026, following the earlier government order dated August 10, 2026, and a letter from the Director of Medical Education dated August 19, 2026.
According to the government order, PIMS, Palakkad has a total intake of 150 MBBS seats for the 2026-27 academic session. The approved seat matrix provides for seats under Community, NRI, All India Quota (AIQ) and Government categories, in accordance with the applicable admission and reservation norms.
The order specifies that Community seats can be up to a maximum of 50% of the total seats, while NRI seats can be up to 15% and AIQ seats irrespective of domicile account for 15% of the total seats. The remaining seats are identified as Government seats to be filled as per applicable reservation norms.
