The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana, has issued a notification for conducting the second phase of web-based counselling for admission to MDS courses under the Competent Authority Quota for the academic year 2026-27.

The second phase will be conducted for allotment of vacant MDS seats remaining after the first phase of counselling in affiliated Government and Private Dental Colleges in Telangana.

The notification has been issued in continuation of earlier KNRUHS notifications dated August 18, August 29, September 19, September 22 and September 25, 2026.

Who Can Exercise Web Options?

Candidates whose names are included in the final merit list of MDS admissions published on the KNRUHS website are eligible to exercise web options, subject to the conditions specified by the university.

KNRUHS has specified the following eligibility conditions:

• Candidates who were allotted an MDS seat in the first phase and joined the course are eligible to exercise web options in the second phase.
• Candidates who were allotted seats in the first phase but did not report or discontinued the course at the respective college are not eligible to exercise web options.
• Candidates who did not exercise web options during the first phase are also not eligible to exercise web options, in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.109, HM&FW(C1) Department, dated August 22, 2022.

University Fee of INR 35,000

Candidates who are allotted a seat in the second phase have to pay a University Fee of INR 35,000 through the online payment gateway.

After making the required payment, candidates can download their allotment letter.

Candidates who have already paid the University Fee during the first phase do not need to pay the University Fee again.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee is required to be paid at the respective Dental College.

According to the notification, the tuition fee payable will be as notified by the Government of Telangana through G.O. Ms.No. 124, HM&FW (C1) Department, dated September 4, 2026.

Vacant Seat Matrix Available on KNRUHS Website

The details of vacant MDS seats available in Dental Colleges have been placed on the KNRUHS official website.

The university has stated that seat allotment will be carried out in accordance with the applicable Government Orders and relevant orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and Hon'ble High Court.

Candidates should carefully check the available seats and exercise their choices according to their eligibility and preferences.

No Limit on Number of Web Options

KNRUHS has clarified that there is no limit on the number of choices that candidates can exercise during the MDS web-option process.

Candidates can select any number of subjects and colleges in which they are interested in joining, subject to their eligibility.

Candidates have been advised to exercise options for all courses and colleges in which they are interested, even if seats are not currently shown as vacant in the seat matrix.

This is because vacancies may arise during counselling when candidates who were allotted seats in the first phase slide to other seats based on their second-phase web options.

However, candidates should not exercise web options for a speciality or college in which they are not interested in joining.

First-Phase Seat Will Be Cancelled if Candidate Gets Second-Phase Allotment

Candidates have been specifically advised to exercise their web options carefully.

If a candidate is allotted an MDS seat in the second phase based on the web options exercised during this phase, the seat allotted to the candidate in the first phase will automatically be cancelled and made available for allotment to another candidate.

Therefore, candidates should enter their choices only after carefully considering their preferred speciality and college.

Important Rule for Candidates Who Do Not Join

KNRUHS has also issued an important warning regarding candidates who receive a seat according to their second-phase web options.

If a candidate exercises a web option, receives the MDS seat as per their choice and does not join the allotted college, the candidate will not be eligible to exercise web options in subsequent rounds of counselling.

Candidates should therefore exercise options only for seats they are prepared to join.

Web Options Must Be Exercised Through a Computer

Candidates have been instructed to exercise web options using a computer with an internet connection.

The university has specifically advised candidates not to use mobile phones or tablets for exercising web options.

An OTP will be sent to the candidate's registered mobile number while saving the web options.

The OTP consists of a six-letter code in English capital letters A to Z.

Candidates are also instructed to take a printout of their saved options.

Seat Allotment and Reporting Process

After seat allotment, candidates will receive an SMS on their registered mobile number, if a seat is allotted.

Candidates are also required to check their allotment status through the official counselling portal.

Selected candidates must download the allotment order after paying the University Fee through the online payment gateway using:

• Debit Card
• Credit Card
• Internet Banking

Candidates must check the allotment details and report to the Principal of the allotted college on or before the last date specified in the allotment order.

Original Certificate Verification at Allotted College

Final verification of the candidate's original certificates will be conducted at the allotted college.

If any discrepancy is found during the verification process, the provisional allotment may be cancelled, and action will be taken as per the University Regulations.

Selected candidates must report to the allotted college within the specified joining period and submit:

• Original certificates
• Relevant bonds
• Required fees
• Tuition fee / college fee

This is necessary to complete the admission process.

Admission Can Be Cancelled for Failure to Complete Process

If a candidate fails to fulfill the required admission conditions within the specified date, the admission will be automatically cancelled.

Such candidates will also not be permitted to exercise web options in subsequent counselling rounds, as per the notification, to prevent seat blocking.

Rules for Candidates Sliding to Another College

If a candidate slides to another college during the second phase of counselling, the candidate must collect:

• All original certificates
• Fees
• Relieving order

The candidate must then report to the newly allotted college before the last date of joining.

Fee Once Paid Will Not Be Refunded

KNRUHS has stated that the University Fee and other fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates should therefore carefully check their choices and admission requirements before proceeding with payment.
