Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana has issued an important notification regarding free exit from MBBS courses for candidates admitted under the Competent Authority Quota for the academic year 2026-27. The notification is applicable to candidates admitted up to the second phase of counselling into MBBS courses in medical colleges affiliated with KNRUHS.

As per the notification dated October 5, 2026, candidates who have been admitted under the Competent Authority Quota and wish to discontinue their MBBS course can avail themselves of the free exit facility up to 2:00 PM on October 8, 2026. Candidates opting for free exit are required to submit an application to the Principal of the concerned medical college for discontinuation from the course.

The university has clarified that candidates who discontinue their MBBS admission under the free exit facility will not be eligible to participate in any further rounds of counselling under the Competent Authority Quota for MBBS for the academic year 2026-27. Therefore, candidates should carefully consider their decision before submitting the discontinuation request.

KNRUHS has also stated that the penalty clause will become applicable for discontinuation after 2:00 PM on October 8, 2026, as per the applicable Government Orders. Candidates who intend to leave their admitted MBBS seat without penalty must therefore complete the discontinuation process within the specified deadline.

KNRUHS MBBS Free Exit 2026 Important Details

The notification also contains instructions for the Principals of affiliated medical colleges. Principals have been directed to return all original certificates and the entire fee paid by candidates who opt for free exit immediately. They are also required to upload the relevant candidate data to the admission portal by 2:30 PM on October 8, 2026, without fail.

Candidates who have already secured MBBS admission under the Competent Authority Quota should carefully evaluate their admission plans before opting for free exit. Since discontinuation through the free exit facility will make them ineligible for subsequent Competent Authority Quota counselling rounds for MBBS in the 2026-27 academic year, candidates should ensure that they understand the consequences before submitting their request.
