Maharashtra NEET UG 2026: Three Private Medical and Dental Colleges to Skip First Admission Round

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has issued Notice No. 11 dated August 25, 2026, regarding the admission process for MBBS/BDS (Group-A) courses for the academic year 2026-27.

According to the notice, three private medical and dental colleges in Maharashtra have initiated the process for establishment of private universities. As a result, these institutions will not participate in the First Admission Round for MBBS/BDS admissions.

The colleges are expected to participate in a subsequent admission round after completing all necessary formalities related to the establishment of their respective private universities.

Three Colleges to Skip NEET UG 2026 First Admission Round

The following institutions have initiated the process for establishment of private universities:

  1. Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College, Ahilyanagar
  2. N.K.P. Salve Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur
  3. Ranjit Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur

The Maharashtra CET Cell has clarified that these colleges will not participate in the First Admission Round of the NEET UG 2026 admission process.

Colleges to Participate in Subsequent Round

The three institutions will participate in a subsequent admission round for MBBS/BDS degree courses for the academic year 2026-27 after completion of the necessary formalities for establishment of the respective private universities.

Candidates participating in the Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 admission process should therefore take this update into consideration while planning their college preferences and admission choices.

Rules After Private University Approval

The notice states that after obtaining recognition/approval as private universities, certain provisions mentioned under Clause 9.3 of the NEET UG 2026 Information Brochure will apply to the concerned colleges.

40% Institutional Seats for Maharashtra Domicile Candidates

Out of the institutional seats, 40% of the seats will be reserved for candidates holding a Maharashtra Domicile Certificate.

Fees

The fees determined by the Fee Fixation Committee constituted by the respective private university will be applicable to the concerned college.

No Government Scholarship or Fee Reimbursement

Candidates admitted to these colleges will not be eligible for any scholarship or fee reimbursement scheme of the Government, as specified in the notice.

Important Note for Candidates

Candidates participating in the Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 MBBS/BDS admission process should note that the three colleges listed above will not be available in the First Admission Round.

Their participation will take place in a subsequent round after completion of the required private university establishment formalities and obtaining the necessary recognition/approval.Candidates should carefully review the applicable rules, fees and eligibility provisions before considering these institutions in future admission rounds.
