The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced the schedule for CAP Round 2 counselling for MBBS and BDS (Group A) courses for the academic year 2026-27.

According to Notice No. 13 dated September 5, 2026, the second round of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) will be conducted to fill the MBBS and BDS seats remaining vacant after CAP Round 1. The schedule has been issued in view of the updated counselling timeline released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi.

Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 2 Schedule 2026

The Maharashtra CET Cell has advised candidates to follow the schedule carefully and complete all required admission formalities within the prescribed deadlines.

Choice Filling for MBBS and BDS Round 2

Candidates participating in CAP Round 2 for MBBS and BDS courses will be required to submit their college and course preferences online.

The choice/preference form filling process will begin on September 8, 2026, and candidates can submit their choices until 11:59 PM on September 10, 2026.

Candidates should carefully arrange their preferences according to their desired colleges and courses before submitting the form.

CAP Round 2 Selection List on September 12

The Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 2 selection list will be published on September 12, 2026.

Candidates who are allotted seats in Round 2 will have to report physically to the allotted college and complete the admission process within the prescribed joining period.

Physical Joining and Documents Required

Candidates allotted seats in CAP Round 2 must physically report to their allotted college from September 13 to September 18, 2026, excluding September 14, 2026.

Candidates must carry:

• All original documents
• Required admission certificates and documents
• Requisite admission fees
• Demand Draft (DD) as required by the notice

The CET Cell has clarified that payment through Cheque may be allowed on bank holidays, but the cheque must be replaced by a Demand Draft on the next working day.

If the candidate fails to submit the required DD on the next working day, the admission may be cancelled.

Academic Session Begins September 15

The academic session for MBBS/BDS admissions 2026-27 is scheduled to commence from September 15, 2026.

Candidates allotted seats in CAP Round 2 should therefore complete their admission and joining formalities within the prescribed schedule.

Schedule May Change

The Maharashtra CET Cell has clarified that the announced counselling schedule is subject to change based on directions issued by authorities including:

• Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)
• AACCC
• Central Government
• Maharashtra State Government
• Hon'ble Courts

What Candidates Should Do Now

Candidates preparing to participate in Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026 CAP Round 2 should:

1. Check the Round 2 seat matrix on September 7.
2. Review available MBBS and BDS seats.
3. Fill and submit college/course preferences between September 8 and September 10.
4. Check the CAP Round 2 Selection List on September 12.
5. If allotted a seat, report to the allotted college with original documents and required fees.
6. Complete admission formalities within the prescribed joining period.
