The Maharashtra State CET Cell has released Notice No. 18 for NEET UG 2026 regarding registration and CAP Round 3 for admission to MBBS and BDS (Group A) courses for the academic year 2026-27.
The notice, dated September 22, 2026, states that CAP Round 2 has been completed. In view of the counselling schedule issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota and State counselling, vacant seats remaining after CAP Round 2 will be filled through CAP Round 3.

Candidates eligible to participate in Maharashtra NEET UG CAP Round 3 can complete online registration and session application from September 22 to September 26, 2026, up to 6:00 PM.
The registration fee must be paid through the online payment gateway by 8:00 PM on September 26.
Candidates must also upload coloured scanned copies of the required original documents by 11:00 PM on September 26, 2026.
Candidates are required to click the Submit option after uploading all documents. The notice states that failure to submit the application after uploading the documents may lead to rejection of the form.
Online document verification for newly registered candidates will be conducted from:
September 22 to September 28, 2026
Candidates should ensure that all required documents are uploaded in the prescribed format and are clearly readable.
Candidates who fail to upload the required documents within the prescribed schedule may not be considered for the admission process or the category claimed by them.
The Combined Registered Candidate List and Combined Provisional Merit List for Group A will be published on September 29, 2026.
Candidates who find any discrepancy can submit grievances from September 30 to October 1, 2026, up to 11:59 PM.
The notice specifically states that candidates must submit supporting documentary proof for any correction. Requests without supporting documents will not be considered.
The Combined Final Merit List will be published on October 5, 2026.
The CAP Round 3 Seat Matrix will be published on October 6, 2026.
Candidates will then be required to fill their fresh preferences from:
October 7 to October 9, 2026, up to 11:59 PM
The choices submitted during CAP Round 2 will be treated as null and void. Therefore, candidates participating in CAP Round 3 must submit fresh choices/preferences for the third round.
The Maharashtra State CET Cell will declare the CAP Round 3 Selection List on October 11, 2026.
Candidates who have a joined status up to CAP Round 3 in All India Quota (AIQ) rounds will be excluded from the selection list, even if they have filled choices.
Candidates allotted a seat in CAP Round 3 must follow the prescribed joining procedure.
Candidates allotted seats in CAP Round 3 must complete physical joining and submission of the Status Retention Form with all original documents and the requisite fees.
The joining period is:
October 11 to October 14, 2026, up to 5:30 PM
The notice specifies that the required fees can be submitted through DD/Cheque, as prescribed.
Importantly, joining the CAP Round 3 allotted seat is mandatory. Candidates allotted a seat in CAP Round 3 will not be considered for subsequent rounds irrespective of whether they join or do not join the allotted seat.
Candidates who have already registered and are holding a seat or were not allotted any seat in CAP Round 1 or Round 2 cannot register again.
However, candidates who cancelled or did not join their allotted MBBS/BDS seat in CAP Round 2 and wish to participate in CAP Round 3 must:
Such candidates must also fill fresh choices because their CAP Round 2 choices will no longer remain valid.
The notice states that candidates having a joined status in AIQ Round 3 will not be considered for Maharashtra CAP Round 3 or subsequent State counselling rounds.
Candidates participating in Maharashtra State counselling should therefore carefully monitor their admission status under AIQ counselling.
Candidates claiming the PwD quota must have claimed the PwD status at the time of NEET UG 2026.
They are required to submit the prescribed PwD eligibility certificate issued by a Medical Board authorised by MCC.
Candidates who had marked PwD during the NEET examination but now wish to remove the PwD claim must communicate with the Maharashtra State CET Cell through the prescribed process, including raising a ticket through their CAP login where applicable.
Candidates claiming the EWS category must submit an EWS certificate valid for the 2026-27 academic year.
The certificate must be issued in the Maharashtra State Government prescribed format.
The notice specifically states that the Central Government format will not be considered valid for this purpose.
Candidates claiming reservation must select the applicable reservation category in the application form before submitting it.

NRI candidates must register on the Foreign Candidate Registration Portal before September 25, 2026 for verification of eligibility.
The subsequent counselling schedule will remain the same as the schedule mentioned above.

The CAP Round 3 schedule is also subject to change according to directions issued by the MCC, AACCC, Central Government, Maharashtra Government or Hon'ble Courts.
