Candidates Must Complete Admission Within Deadline

Candidates who have been allotted a seat in the second round must complete the required joining and admission formalities within the stipulated timeline.

The Directorate has clarified that candidates who reject or fail to join the allotted seat will not be allowed to claim the same seat in further rounds of counselling, as per the notified counselling guidelines.

Candidates should therefore carefully review their allotment and complete the required admission process within the prescribed schedule.

Security Fee Forfeiture Rules

The notification also contains important instructions regarding the refundable Security Fee.

If a candidate fails to join the institute after receiving a Round 2 allotment within the stipulated period, the refundable Security Fee will be forfeited.

The Security Fee may also be forfeited if the admission is cancelled for any reason. This includes situations where a candidate provides wrong information during registration, resulting in allotment of a seat, and the admission is subsequently cancelled by the college authorities.

Candidates should ensure that all information submitted during the counselling and admission process is correct and supported by valid documents.

FLOAT Candidates: Options After Round 2

Candidates who opted for FLOAT in the previous round and whose seat has not been upgraded in Round 2 have been provided with three options.

1. FREEZE

Candidates can choose to FREEZE the previously allotted seat and continue with that seat.

2. SURRENDER

Candidates can SURRENDER the previously allotted seat and participate in the subsequent round of counselling.

3. Continue with FLOAT

Candidates can continue with FLOAT if they wish to seek an upgrade in the third round.

Candidates opting to continue with FLOAT must freshly exercise and lock their seat choices for Round 3 within the prescribed schedule.

The seat choices submitted during Round 2 will not automatically be considered for Round 3.

Important Rule for Surrendering a Seat

Candidates should carefully consider the consequences before selecting the SURRENDER option.

If a FLOAT candidate surrenders the allotted seat after Round 2, the refundable Security Deposit will be forfeited.

Once a seat is surrendered, the candidate will have no claim over the surrendered seat.

Freeze/Float/Reject Mechanism

All candidates allotted seats in the second round are required to follow the procedure prescribed in the “2nd Round Allotment Technical Instructions & User Manual”.

Candidates must exercise the applicable Freeze / Float / Reject mechanism within the stipulated timeline.

According to the notification, the deadline for exercising the required option is:

September 18, 2026

Candidates should complete the process through the Manipur Medical e-Counselling portal within the specified time.
