The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has announced the addition of new MBBS seats to the Round 2 Seat Matrix of UG Counselling 2026.
According to MCC Notice No. 19, Ref. U-11011/07/2026-MEC dated September 5, 2026, information regarding the addition of seats was received from the concerned medical institutes.
A total of 30 MBBS seats have been added across three medical colleges. These seats will now be available for candidates participating in Round 2 UG Counselling 2026.
In view of the addition of the new seats, MCC has temporarily halted the Round 2 choice-filling process.
The choice-filling process is scheduled to resume after 7:00 PM on September 5, 2026.
Candidates will be able to exercise their choices for the newly added seats once the choice-filling facility resumes.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official MCC website for further updates and instructions.
The newly added seats are distributed among three medical colleges, with 15 seats at Bagalkote Medical College and Research Institute Office, Bagalkote, 7 seats at Government Medical College, Chapra (Saran) and 8 seats at Shri Ram Janki Medical College and Hospital, Samastipur.

The Bagalkote Medical College and Research Institute Office, Bagalkote has added 15 MBBS seats to the Round 2 Seat Matrix.
