The Directorate of Health Services Medical Education & Research (DME&R), Meghalaya has issued a notification regarding re-counselling for MBBS and BDS seats under the State Quota, including seats at Shillong Medical College, and applicable Central Pool seats for the academic session 2026-27.

The notification dated September 15, 2026, has been issued in pursuance of Government Order Health.153/2026/112 dated September 15, 2026.

The Meghalaya Health Department's official website has also listed the notification for Re-Counselling for MBBS and BDS Seats under State Quota and Central Pool Seats for the 2026-27 academic session.

Meghalaya MBBS, BDS Re-Counselling 2026: Important Dates

Important: Candidates included in the enclosed eligible list are required to report at the venue by 11:00 AM sharp.

Who Can Participate in Meghalaya Re-Counselling?

The re-counselling exercise is applicable to eligible candidates included in the list issued by the Meghalaya DME&R.

The exercise will cover admission to MBBS and BDS seats under the State Quota, including seats at Shillong Medical College, as well as applicable Central Pool seats.

Candidates should verify their names in the eligible candidate list before reporting for the re-counselling process.

Re-Counselling to Be Conducted in Transparent Manner

According to the notification, the re-counselling process will be conducted in a fair, transparent and uniform manner.

The seat allotment and choice-filling process will be carried out in accordance with the applicable:

• Government order
• Reservation policy
• Seat allocation policy
• Eligibility requirements

The authorities have stated that eligible candidates will be provided equal opportunity during the choice filling and seat allotment process.

Candidates Must Report in Person

All eligible candidates are required to appear personally at the counselling venue.

Candidates are permitted to attend along with one guardian only.

Candidates should report on time and follow the instructions provided by the counselling authorities regarding:

• Choice filling
• Seat allotment
• Document verification
• Admission-related formalities
• Other counselling procedures

Candidates are advised to cooperate with the authorities so that the re-counselling process can be completed within the prescribed schedule.

Seat Allotment Subject to Eligibility

The allotment of MBBS and BDS seats will be subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions and other requirements applicable to the respective seats.

Candidates should ensure that they have all necessary documents and certificates required for verification. Where applicable, candidates will also have to execute the prescribed Bond/Agreement after completion of the counselling and seat allotment process.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Eligible candidates participating in Meghalaya MBBS and BDS Re-Counselling 2026 should:

1. Check their name in the eligible candidate list.
2. Reach the counselling venue on September 16 or 17, 2026 as applicable.
3. Report by 11:00 AM sharp.
4. Attend the counselling process personally.
5. Carry all required original documents and certificates.
6. Follow the instructions regarding choice filling and seat allotment.
7. Complete admission formalities if a seat is allotted.
8. Execute the required Bond/Agreement wherever applicable.
