The Directorate of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya has announced the Second Round Counselling for admission to 1st-year MBBS at P.A. Sangma International Medical College & Hospital, Baridua, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya for the academic session 2026-27.

According to the advertisement dated September 3, 2026, online applications for the second round of counselling will be accepted from September 5 to September 7, 2026.

The counselling will be conducted for available seats under the State Quota, Management Quota and NRI Quota.

Meghalaya MBBS Counselling 2026: Important Dates

Candidates should complete their online application within the prescribed deadline. Further counselling rounds and seat availability will be announced through the official Meghalaya Government website.

87 MBBS Seats Vacant After Round 1

A total of 87 MBBS seats are available after the completion of the first round of counselling.

NEET UG 2026 Qualification Mandatory

All candidates seeking admission to the MBBS course must have qualified NEET UG 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The advertisement specifies the following minimum NEET qualifying criteria:

Selection and merit will be based on the NEET UG 2026 All India Rank, subject to the applicable eligibility and reservation conditions.

Eligibility for State Quota MBBS Seats

For State Government Quota seats, candidates must satisfy the eligibility requirements specified by the Meghalaya Government.

Eligible candidates include Meghalaya Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Scheduled Tribe (OST) candidates holding a valid certificate issued by the competent authority.

General category candidates must be permanent residents of Meghalaya and possess a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) as prescribed by the Government of Meghalaya.

For MBBS admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with English as one of the languages.

Candidates from the General category must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology, while ST/SC/OST candidates require a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.

Other eligibility conditions specified in the UG-NEET 2026 Information Bulletin will also apply.

Management Quota Eligibility

Candidates applying for Management Quota seats must be citizens of India.

They must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with English and secured:

• 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology for General category candidates.
• 40% aggregate marks for ST/SC/OST candidates.

Candidates must also be declared qualified in NEET UG 2026.

NRI Quota Eligibility

Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can apply for admission under the NRI quota subject to the rules and regulations of the Government of Meghalaya and Government of India.

NRI applicants must upload appropriate documentation from the Indian Diplomatic Mission in their country of residence to support their NRI status.

The advertisement states that NRI admissions must comply with the revised MCC Guidelines issued on May 27, 2026.

Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed academic and NEET UG eligibility requirements.

Age and Medical Fitness Requirements

Candidates seeking admission must be at least 17 years old on December 31, 2026.

Candidates opting for Float will retain their allotted seat and remain eligible for upgradation in subsequent counselling rounds. They will not be required to complete final admission formalities until their allotment becomes final.
