The Directorate of Health Services, Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya has issued an important notice regarding the screening of eligible candidates for undergraduate medical and AYUSH admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.
As per the notice dated August 24, 2026, the screening process will be conducted for candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and BUMS courses against State Quota seats and Shillong Medical College.
The screening is scheduled to take place on August 27, 2026 (Thursday), from 9:00 AM onwards. Candidates will have to report at their designated screening centre and undergo document verification as prescribed by the Directorate.

The category-wise list of eligible candidates who are required to appear for screening has been uploaded on the official website of the Meghalaya Health Department.
Candidates appearing for the screening are required to produce all relevant documents in original before the authorities.

Candidates are advised to carefully verify their documents before appearing for screening so that the verification process can be completed smoothly.
The Meghalaya DME has stated that the counselling schedule for shortlisted candidates, including the allotment of seats, will be uploaded separately on the official website.
Candidates who successfully clear the screening process should regularly check the official website for updates regarding the counselling and seat allotment schedule.
The Directorate has advised candidates to visit the official website from time to time to remain updated about the next stages of the admission process.
Candidates whose names appear in the category-wise eligible candidate list should appear for screening at the prescribed centre on August 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM onwards.
Candidates should carry their original documents along with self-attested photocopies and two recent passport-size photographs. They should also regularly check the Meghalaya Health Department website for the counselling and seat allotment schedule after the screening process.
