The Mahatma Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences (MGPGIDS), Government of Puducherry institution located at Gorimedu, Puducherry, has released the MDS seat details and fee structure for the 2026-27 academic session.
According to the details provided by the institute, a total of 23 MDS seats are available across various dental specialities.
Out of these, 12 seats will be filled through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Delhi under the All India Quota, while the remaining 11 seats will be filled through CENTAC, Puducherry.
The CENTAC seats include 10 seats for Puducherry domiciles and one NRI seat.

The institute has stated that one NRI seat is earmarked in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics for the 2026-27 academic year.
If an eligible NRI candidate is not available, the NRI seat may be converted to Management Quota/Self-Sustaining mode and filled during the mop-up round, as per the institute's stated admission provisions.
The total MDS seats at MGPGIDS Puducherry are divided between All India and Puducherry counselling authorities.
The remaining seats for Puducherry domiciles will be filled according to the seat matrix furnished by the Health Secretariat, Puducherry.

The above fees are stated to be payable at the time of admission.
For NRI/NRI Sponsored students, the institute has specified a fee structure in US dollars.

The institute has stated that NRI/NRI Sponsored students may pay the admission fee either as a one-time payment or in four equal instalments, with two instalments in the first year and two in the second year.
The tuition fee is required to be paid in one instalment every year.
In case of admission under the Self-Sustaining Quota, the fee structure will be as fixed by the Fee Committee for Self-Financial Dental Institutes of the Union Territory of Puducherry.
Candidates should check the applicable fee notification before completing admission under this category.
The institute has stated that if a candidate is transferred to another college or resigns before the prescribed closing date of admission, the fee paid will be refunded after deduction of 10% of the total fee deposited by the candidate, as per the stated conditions.
For students admitted under All India Quota or State Quota, discontinuation of the MDS course after the last date of admission will attract a penalty of INR 5 lakh.
The institute has further stated that students, including those admitted under NRI/Self-Sustaining Quota, leaving the course after the prescribed last date of admission or during the course may be required to pay the applicable remaining fees as per the stated rules, with fees already paid being non-refundable in such circumstances.
The institute has also provided the hostel fee structure.
