The Directorate of Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh has issued an advisory dated September 18, 2026, for candidates participating in the Second Round of MP State Level Combined NEET MDS Counselling 2026.
The advisory outlines important rules regarding fresh choice filling and locking, advance fee payment, upgradation, admission after Round 2 allotment, document verification and the option for further upgradation in the Mop-Up Round.
Candidates are advised to carefully follow the counselling schedule and complete all required activities within the prescribed time.
DME Madhya Pradesh has clarified that all eligible candidates participating in Round 2 must submit fresh choices and complete choice locking through the counselling portal within the specified deadline.
The fresh choice-filling requirement applies as per the Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Admission Rules, 2018, as amended on July 2, 2024.
Candidates should carefully prepare their preferred college, course and category choices before entering them on the counselling portal.
Candidates who are not already admitted through Round 1 and who wish to modify information in their registration will be provided one final opportunity to make the required corrections before Round 2 counselling, within the prescribed time limit.
The advisory states that this opportunity will not be available after the specified deadline.
Candidates who have already taken admission in Round 1, as well as candidates who resigned from their Round 1 admitted seat, are excluded from this registration modification opportunity.
Candidates participating in Round 2 are required to pay the prescribed advance fee at the time of choice filling, depending on the type of seat and category.

The advance fee will be adjusted according to the applicable provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Admission Rules, 2018, including the amendments notified on July 2, 2024.
Candidates who were admitted to a private or government dental college during Round 1 will have their Round 2 advance fee adjusted against the academic fee already deposited during the first round.
Candidates who were not allotted a seat in Round 1, however, must deposit the applicable advance fee for participating in Round 2 choice filling.
DME Madhya Pradesh has advised candidates to prepare their choices in advance before entering them on the portal.
Candidates should not select colleges whose prescribed fee they are unable to pay.
The advisory makes it clear that candidates should consider the applicable college fee and financial requirements before submitting their choices.
Candidates should carefully understand the consequences of accepting a Round 2 allotment.
If a candidate receives an allotment in Round 2 but does not take admission, the advance amount deposited for Round 2 may be forfeited under the applicable admission rules.
Such candidates will also not be eligible to participate in subsequent counselling rounds, as specified in the advisory.
Candidates who receive a new allotment in Round 2, as well as candidates whose college, subject or category is upgraded, must complete admission at the newly allotted institution within the prescribed Round 2 admission period.
Failure to take admission may result in forfeiture of the deposited advance amount.
Even where a candidate is upgraded in subject or category while remaining in the same institution, the candidate must complete the online admission process again as required.
Candidates admitted through Round 2 and candidates admitted through Round 1 who do not receive an upgrade in Round 2 may be allowed to select an upgradation option for the Mop-Up Round, subject to the applicable rules.
Candidates who had opted for upgradation but were not upgraded in Round 2 will continue with their previously admitted institution and generally do not need to take any additional action for retaining that seat.
However, they may exercise the upgradation option for the Mop-Up Round.
The advisory specifically states that candidates who had opted for upgradation but do not participate in Round 2 choice filling will remain admitted to their Round 1 seat.
However, such candidates will not be eligible for upgradation in the Mop-Up Round.
Therefore, candidates interested in future upgradation should carefully follow the Round 2 choice-filling requirements.
After publication of the Round 2 allotment result, candidates will be able to log in using their Login ID and download the allotment letter.
Candidates should take a printout of the allotment letter and keep it safely for the admission process.
Newly allotted candidates must personally report to the allotted institution within the prescribed admission period.
The candidate must get the original documents verified by the college admission committee.
Eligible candidates are required to submit their prescribed original documents to the admission committee as per the document list mentioned in Proforma-1 of the counselling instructions.

The candidate must also pay the applicable admission fee online at the newly allotted college. The academic fee already deposited during Round 1 will be adjusted according to the applicable rules.
If the amount deposited through the portal exceeds the applicable fee, the excess amount will be refunded after completion of the counselling process.
At the time of admission, candidates must select an Upgradation Option – YES or NO at the college level.
The online admission slip will be generated only after the candidate selects one of these options.
The advisory also states that candidates will have an edit facility for this option through their login. The editing facility will remain available only during the period specified for upgradation in the counselling schedule.

Candidates may choose from the available payment methods and should ensure that their bank account has sufficient funds and the required online banking facility.
After successful fee payment, the online admission slip will be issued by the concerned college.
Where a refund becomes applicable, the refund will be processed after completion of the counselling process.The amount will be transferred to the bank account provided by the candidate during registration, as per the applicable procedure.
