The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh has issued an important advisory for candidates participating in the Second Round of Madhya Pradesh State Level Combined NEET UG Counselling 2026 for undergraduate medical and dental admissions.
The advisory, dated September 7, 2026, states that all eligible candidates participating in the second round must complete choice filling and choice locking on the counselling portal within the specified deadline.
Candidates should carefully select their preferred courses and colleges because only the final locked choices will be considered for seat allotment.
As per the advisory, candidates must enter their choices and lock them within the time limit mentioned in the second-round counselling schedule.
The Edit Option will remain available until the final date and time specified in the counselling schedule. Candidates who do not lock their choices will not be considered for seat allotment.
Therefore, candidates are advised to finalize their preferred courses and colleges well before the deadline.
Candidates participating in the second round are required to deposit the prescribed advance fee before choice filling, depending on the type of college and category of choices selected.

The advisory states that the advance fee deposited before second-round choice filling will be adjusted against the applicable admission fee for candidates who were admitted through the first round, subject to the prescribed rules.
Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category are not required to deposit any advance amount before filling choices for government or private medical/dental colleges in the second round.
However, ST candidates must pay the INR 100 portal fee online at the time of choice locking.
The second round allows both Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates and eligible non-domicile candidates to participate in choice filling and locking for allotment.
However, the advisory specifies that Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates will receive priority in seat allotment.
Non-domicile candidates will be considered for allotment according to merit only when eligible domicile candidates are not available in the relevant merit position.
DME Madhya Pradesh has advised candidates to prepare their preferred choices before starting the online choice-filling process.
Candidates should carefully consider the course, college and applicable fee structure before submitting their choices.
The advisory specifically advises candidates not to fill choices for colleges whose prescribed fees they may not be able to pay.
Candidates receiving a fresh allotment in the second round must take admission to the newly allotted institution within the prescribed counselling schedule.
The same requirement applies to candidates whose college, course or category has been upgraded during the second round.
Even if a candidate gets only a category upgrade while remaining in the same college, the candidate must complete the online admission process again as required.
All candidates allotted seats in the second round, including fresh allotment and upgraded candidates, must personally report to the allotted institution within the prescribed admission period.
Candidates must first report at the Government Nodal Officer's desk and have their presence recorded online.
Freshly allotted candidates must subsequently undergo original document verification by the admission committee of the allotted institution.
The list of required original documents is available through the DME website and MPOnline portal in the prescribed Form-1.
Candidates who were already admitted in Round 1 and receive an upgrade in Round 2 must complete the required admission formalities at the newly allotted college.
They must also provide the required acknowledgement showing submission of documents at the previous college along with photocopies and pay the applicable admission fee at the new college.
The amount payable will be calculated after adjusting:
If the candidate has deposited an excess amount through the portal, the excess amount will be returned after completion of the counselling process, as per the applicable procedure.
Candidates allotted seats in the second round must compulsorily select Yes or No for upgradation to the Mop-Up Round.
The upgradation option must be entered before the second-round admission slip can be generated online.
Candidates will be allowed to edit their upgradation willingness through the “Willingness for Upgradation” link available in the candidate login during the prescribed period.
Candidates admitted in Round 1 who are not upgraded in Round 2 can also submit their upgradation preference for the Mop-Up Round through the candidate login.
Candidates who participated in Round 2 upgradation but do not complete fresh choice filling and locking will remain in their Round 1 admitted college.
However, according to the advisory, such candidates will not be eligible to exercise the upgradation option for the Mop-Up Round.
Candidates should therefore complete fresh choice filling and locking if they want to remain eligible for the applicable subsequent upgradation process.
Candidates who resign from an allotted seat within the prescribed resignation period will be subject to a financial penalty of INR 2,00,000, as per the counselling rules.
Such candidates will also become ineligible for subsequent rounds of counselling.
Candidates should therefore make their admission and resignation decisions carefully after considering the applicable rules.
Eligible candidates must pay the prescribed institutional admission fee online.

Candidates are advised to ensure that their bank account has sufficient transaction limits and that internet banking/payment facilities are active.
Because the second-round admission period is limited, candidates are advised to report to their allotted institution and complete the admission process as early as possible.
