The Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh has issued an important press note for candidates and parents regarding the ongoing NEET UG Admission 2026 state-level counselling process. The State Counselling Committee has clarified that counselling, merit preparation, seat allotment, document verification and admission will be carried out according to the applicable state admission rules.
According to the notice, merely having a candidate's name in the merit list or receiving a seat allotment does not constitute final admission. Candidates must submit the required original documents and successfully complete document scrutiny and verification before the admission process is considered complete.
The counselling process is being conducted online in a transparent manner. The Directorate has stated that the process includes registration, determination of preference order, seat allotment, verification of original documents and admission under Rule 7 of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025.
The Directorate has clearly stated that inclusion in the merit list or allotment of a seat at an institution alone will not be treated as final admission. Candidates must produce the required original documents after allotment and must be found eligible during scrutiny and verification. Only after successful verification will the admission process be considered complete.
Candidates may be required to submit documents including their original domicile certificate, category/caste certificate and other documents prescribed under the admission rules for verification.
The press note also warns candidates against submitting false or incorrect information or hiding relevant facts during the admission process.
Under the applicable admission rules, if a candidate obtains admission by providing false information or concealing relevant facts, or if an eligibility-related error is discovered later, the admission may be cancelled as per the rules.
The Directorate has reiterated that counselling, allotment, document verification and admission in the current and upcoming stages will continue to follow the prevailing state admission rules.
Candidates participating in the counselling process have been informed that a separate schedule for document verification and admission will be published on the Directorate's website, www.cgdme.in.
Candidates must carefully check the published schedule and appear at the concerned institution/admission centre within the prescribed time along with all required original documents.
The Directorate has cautioned that candidates may be declared ineligible for admission if they submit incomplete documents, fail to provide required certificates or provide incorrect information.
