The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released an important notice regarding the NEET UG 2026 counselling process and the procedure for raising complaints or objections against the Provisional Merit List. As per Notice No. 09 dated August 18, 2026, candidates will be allowed to verify their details published in the provisional merit list and submit grievances in case of any discrepancy.

Candidates can raise grievances regarding their own details in the provisional merit list from August 19, 2026, to August 20, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. The grievance facility will be available through the candidate login on the official counselling portal.

NEET UG 2026 Maharashtra Grievance Process

Candidates have been advised to carefully verify their name, category, gender, marks and other relevant details mentioned in the Provisional Merit List. If any error or discrepancy is found, candidates must submit the grievance through their candidate login.

The CET Cell has clarified that grievances submitted through email will not be considered. Candidates must use the grievance link available in their candidate login to submit objections.

A candidate can submit a grievance only once. However, multiple objections can be included in the same grievance submission. For example, candidates can raise objections related to gender, category, specified reservation or other eligible fields in a single submission.

Candidates must carefully review all details before submitting the grievance because once submitted, the grievance cannot be edited. No addition or deletion of objections will be permitted after submission.

Supporting Documents Mandatory for Corrections

Candidates seeking correction or change in any detail submitted in their registration form must provide the requisite supporting documentary evidence. Requests submitted without the required documents will not be considered.

For each field requiring correction, candidates must upload the relevant supporting document. Multiple documents can be uploaded wherever required.

The CET Cell has clarified that merely uploading documents does not automatically guarantee acceptance of the requested correction. The claim or change will be considered only after verification of the submitted documents.

Candidates who have received communication regarding their uploaded documents after verification can upload the required documents during the specified grievance period by following the prescribed procedure.

Important Instruction Regarding Document Receipts

Candidates who have uploaded receipts in place of documents should take note that receipts for documents other than the CVC (Caste Validity Certificate) for OBC and SEBC categories will not be accepted.

Therefore, candidates must ensure that they upload valid and appropriate documents supporting their respective claims.

Candidates Can Request Category Changes

The notice also allows eligible candidates to seek conversion from OPEN category to Reservation, Specified Reservation or Minority category, subject to the submission of the required supporting documents as prescribed in the NEET UG 2026 Information Brochure.

Candidates who want to withdraw or remove any claim can do so by submitting a signed undertaking on plain paper and uploading it as supporting documentation.

No Correction After Final Merit List

The Maharashtra State CET Cell has clearly stated that no change or correction will be permitted after publication of the Final Merit List.

The Final Merit List will be used for the CAP Round 1 and CAP Round 2 admission process. Therefore, candidates are advised to carefully check their provisional merit list details and raise all necessary objections within the prescribed grievance window.

Candidates should also refer to the NEET UG 2026 Information Brochure for the list of documents required for different claims before submitting their grievances.
