Freshly registered candidates must also submit their willingness along with the security deposit for Round 2. Failure to submit willingness and the required security deposit will result in the candidature not being considered for the second round.
The prescribed security deposit varies according to the type of college:
| College Type | Security Deposit |
|---|---|
| Government Colleges | INR 25,000 |
| Government Colleges – SC/BC/PwD | INR 10,000 |
| Private Colleges | INR 2,00,000 |
Candidates should ensure that the applicable security amount is deposited within the prescribed timeline.

The choice-filling window will remain open from:
September 19 to September 23, 2026, up to 5:00 PM
BFUHS has clarified that candidates can submit preferences even if a particular seat is not shown as vacant in the initial vacancy position. Vacancies may increase after candidates surrender their Round 1 seats within the permitted period.
Candidates are therefore advised to review their choices according to the automatically updated vacancy position on the online portal.
Candidates who have joined their allotted seats during Round 1 in Punjab State can surrender their seats under the Free Exit facility up to:
September 24, 2026, 5:00 PM
Candidates seeking free exit must submit their surrender application to the Principal of the concerned college. The college will then process the surrender through the online portal so that the vacancy is automatically reflected for Round 2.
Candidates should note that if the surrender process is not completed within the prescribed period, they will continue to be treated as joined candidates.
BFUHS will publish the Provisional Merit List for candidates willing to participate in Round 2 on September 19, 2026.
Candidates can submit objections against the provisional merit list up to 5:00 PM on September 20, 2026.
Objections must be submitted through email at:
Candidates must attach relevant supporting documents with their objections.
If the merit position changes after consideration of valid objections, the revised merit position will be displayed on the university website on September 21, 2026.
The Round 2 seat allotment process will be conducted on September 24, 2026.
The provisional allotment/result will be displayed on September 25, 2026.
Candidates can submit objections against the provisional allotment up to 3:00 PM on September 26, 2026 through the prescribed email address.
The revised provisional allotment, after consideration of valid objections, will be displayed on September 26, 2026.
Provisionally selected candidates must pay the balance fee, after adjustment of the applicable security deposit, through the university payment gateway.
Candidates must then report to the respective allotted college for joining.
The fee payment and joining period is:
September 27 to September 30, 2026
Candidates should complete all admission formalities within the prescribed period.
BFUHS has specified the following categories of candidates eligible for Round 2 seat allotment:
Candidates who become ineligible because of inadequate or invalid documents as per the applicable Punjab Government notification, MCC, prospectus or regulatory requirements will not be eligible for allotment.
BFUHS has clarified that the refundable security deposit may be forfeited in certain circumstances.
The security deposit can be forfeited if a candidate is allotted a Round 2 or subsequent-round seat but does not report to the allotted college to complete the admission process.
It can also be forfeited if admission is cancelled because of incorrect information, failure to produce required documents or other reasons resulting in cancellation of the allotted seat.
Candidates who do not join a Round 2 allotted seat and wish to participate in Round 3 will have to complete fresh registration and deposit the applicable security amount.
Candidates can upgrade their Round 2 allotted seat during Round 3, subject to the applicable counselling rules.
However, if a candidate joins an upgraded/allotted seat in Round 3, the candidate will not be permitted to resign or leave that seat.
Conversion of NRI, reserved category and Institutional Preference seats to open merit will be carried out during Round 3, after eligible candidates in the respective category or quota have been exhausted.
