Punjab NEET UG 2026 Tentative Seat Matrix Released

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has published the tentative seat matrix for Punjab NEET UG 2026 counselling for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in Government, Private, Minority, and Dental colleges across the state.

The university clarified that the published seat matrix is provisional and may be revised before or during the counselling process based on approvals from the National Medical Commission (NMC), Government notifications, affiliation status, court orders, and other statutory requirements.

Government Medical Colleges Offer 900 MBBS Seats

According to the tentative seat matrix, five Government Medical Colleges in Punjab together offer 900 MBBS seats.

Out of these seats:

• 15% All India Quota (AIQ): 134 Seats
• 85% Punjab State Quota: 741 Seats
• NRI Quota: 79 Seats
• EWS Seats: 50

Private and Minority Medical Colleges Included

The seat matrix also covers admissions in private and minority medical institutions, including:

• Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bathinda
• Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana
• Gian Sagar Medical College, Banur
• PIMS, Jalandhar
• RIMT Medical College
• Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences
• Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana

Seats have been distributed under Government, Management, Minority, NRI, and various reserved categories.

Government and Private Dental Colleges Also Included

BFUHS has also released the tentative seat matrix for Government and Private BDS colleges.

Government Dental Colleges include:

• Government Dental College, Amritsar
• Government Dental College, Patiala

The notification also includes seat details for multiple private and minority dental colleges across Punjab.

Category-wise Seat Distribution Before Every Counselling Round

BFUHS has informed candidates that the final category-wise seat distribution will be published separately before each counselling round after incorporating all statutory approvals and Government notifications.

The university has further stated that the number of seats may increase or decrease depending on:

• NMC approvals
• Government notifications
• Affiliation status
• Court orders
• Surrender or withdrawal of seats by institutions
