The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has issued a public notice regarding the Sports Category Merit List for admission to MBBS and BDS courses under NEET UG 2026.

According to the notice dated September 2, 2026, the Sports Category Merit List has been prepared by the Office of the Director, Sports, Punjab for candidates who applied under the Sports Category during the 1st Round of Online Counselling.

Sports Category Merit List to Be Used for Round 2

BFUHS has clarified that since this is technically the first counselling of candidates under the Sports Category, the Sports Merit List prepared by the Office of the Director, Sports, Punjab, will be considered for the purpose of allotment of seats under the Sports Category in the 2nd Round of Online Counselling.

Candidates included in the Sports Category Merit List should therefore follow the Round 2 counselling schedule and instructions issued by the university.

Tie-Breaking Criteria for Sports Category

The university has also specified the inter-se merit criteria in case two or more candidates secure equal marks in the Sports Merit Evaluation.

In such cases, the NEET UG 2026 Rank of the candidates will be considered to determine their inter-se merit.

Therefore, candidates with equal Sports Merit Evaluation marks will be ranked according to their respective NEET UG 2026 Rank.

Applications Submitted in Round 2 to Be Considered in Round 3

BFUHS has further informed candidates that applications received under the Sports Category during the 2nd Round of Online Counselling will not be considered for the current Round 2 allotment.

Instead, such applications will be considered for Sports Category counselling in the 3rd Round.

Candidates participating in the counselling process are advised to carefully follow the university's latest notices and counselling instructions.
