The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has issued a public notice regarding the cancellation of provisional admission and vacancy of an MBBS seat under the Defence Category during the first round of NEET UG 2026 online counselling.
According to Ref. No. BFUHS/2026/97 dated September 8, 2026, an MBBS seat was allotted under the Management Quota – Defence (Priority-II) Category during Round 1.
However, the candidate failed to produce the required valid certificate establishing eligibility under the Defence Priority-II Category.
BFUHS stated that the certificate produced by the candidate was related to Defence Priority-VI.
Since the certificate did not establish eligibility for the Defence Priority-II Category against which the MBBS seat had been allotted, the candidate could not satisfy the required eligibility condition for the allotted category.
Accordingly, the Provisional Admission Slip generated through the University counselling portal is liable to be cancelled.
Following the cancellation of the provisional admission, the concerned MBBS seat may be considered vacant for further allotment or counselling, as per the applicable counselling process.
The University has issued the notice for information of all concerned candidates and stakeholders.
The notice highlights the importance of producing the correct and valid certificate corresponding to the Defence Priority Category under which a candidate has been allotted a seat.
Candidates participating in Punjab NEET UG counselling under Defence or other special categories should ensure that their supporting certificates establish eligibility for the exact category/priority claimed during counselling.
A certificate belonging to a different Defence Priority category may not establish eligibility for the seat allotted.
As the concerned provisional admission is liable to cancellation and the seat may become vacant, the seat could be considered in a subsequent allotment or counselling process, subject to the applicable BFUHS counselling rules and vacancy position.
Candidates participating in further rounds should therefore regularly check the official BFUHS counselling portal and notices for updated seat availability.
Candidates applying for MBBS seats under Defence or other reserved/special categories should carefully verify their eligibility documents before participating in counselling. The certificate submitted during admission must support eligibility for the specific Defence Priority category against which the seat is allotted. Candidates should follow the latest instructions issued by BFUHS for document verification and admission.
