The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has issued a public notice regarding the medical assessment of candidates claiming the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category for admission to MBBS and BDS courses through NEET UG 2026 against Punjab State Quota seats.

As per the notice dated September 10, 2026, BFUHS has constituted a State Medical Assessment Board at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & Hospital, Faridkot for assessing the disability status of eligible candidates claiming the PwBD category.

Punjab NEET UG PwBD Medical Assessment 2026

PwBD candidates who are required to undergo assessment by the State Medical Assessment Board can appear at the Office of the Principal, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & Hospital, Faridkot.

The medical assessment will be conducted on:

• Date: September 14, 2026
• Time: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
• Venue: Office of the Principal, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & Hospital, Faridkot
• Purpose: Assessment of candidates claiming PwBD category for MBBS/BDS admission under Punjab State Quota

Candidates claiming the PwBD category should ensure that they appear before the Board within the prescribed date and time, wherever assessment by the State Board is required.

Candidates Already Assessed by MCC Board Need Not Appear

BFUHS has clarified that candidates who have already been assessed by the Medical Board constituted at the designated centres specified by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) do not need to appear before the State Medical Assessment Board again.

Such candidates should follow the applicable counselling instructions and retain their relevant assessment documents.

State Board Disability Certificate Valid Only for Punjab State Quota

BFUHS has specifically stated that the disability assessment/certificate issued by the State Medical Assessment Board will be valid only for admission against the 85% State Quota seats of Punjab State.

The certificate issued by the State Medical Assessment Board will not be valid for admission against All India Quota seats.

Candidates participating in NEET UG counselling should therefore carefully check the applicable disability assessment requirements for the quota under which they are seeking admission.

What PwBD Candidates Should Do

Candidates claiming the PwBD category for Punjab NEET UG 2026 State Quota admission should:

1. Check whether they are required to appear before the State Medical Assessment Board.
2. Report to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & Hospital, Faridkot on September 14, 2026.
3. Reach the assessment venue between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
4. Carry all relevant medical and counselling documents as required.
5. Candidates already assessed at an MCC-designated centre need not undergo the assessment again.
6. Note that the State Board's disability assessment/certificate is applicable only to Punjab's 85% State Quota seats.
